Bopper The Whopper Finds His Forever Home After Shedding 3 Stone
A border collie nicknamed 'Bopper the Whopper', who was dubbed Britain's fattest dog, has found a new home after shedding 3 stone in seven months.
At the time, the chunky canine was deemed "too overweight to fit into a kennel" and was forced to live with the animal shelter's owners.
A spokesperson from the shelter said: "He has settled in very well and is enjoying plenty of short walks on the moors to help him shed the last of his weight and everyone is thrilled for him."
Bopper was rescued by the RSPCA after his owners became too unwell to look after him.
The dog, who was twice the size he should be, was put on a specialist diet to bring his weight down, while the shelter set-up a fundraising page to help cover his vet bills.
Before Bopper, the shelter cared for 'Hattie the Fatty', who also made headlines for her large frame.
After losing half of her body weight, Hattie was too rehomed by the Shelter's Mrs Rickard while they took in their biggest dog yet, 11 stone Georgie Porgie, in April.
