A woman has shared a genius hack to clean one of the most notoriously mucky appliances in your home - yep, that pesky oven.

Watch the brilliant trick in action here:

Keeping your kitchen looking tidy isn’t easy at the best of times, but I think we can all agree that the oven always proves to be a particular nemesis, having been baked with splatters and stains at high temperatures on a daily basis.

But one woman thinks she’s got the perfect way to clean yours, and it only takes a matter of minutes.

Better still, you won’t need to rush out and buy specialist products, as it requires just a couple of basic cleaning items that you’ll mostly likely have lying around at home.

You just need a dishwasher tablet and sponge.

TikToker Nicole Paige Lilly (@nicolepaigelilly) shared the impressive hack online, showing how she uses a sponge and dishwasher tablet to get that grimy cooker door sparkling clean.

She began: “Push sides in and pull top out to remove glass.

“Be careful because the glass is what’s weighing the oven door!”

Nicole then grabbed one dishwasher tab and a sponge.

She continued: “Cut out the shape of dishwasher tab in sponge and put tab in sponge. Then scrub 'til clean.

“Still some staining on glass so will have to go over that with a Brillo pad later!”

The hack takes mere minutes.

In the comments, Nicole added: “Should also note make sure you wash everything down with water to remove any chemicals!”

When someone asked how you clean the inside, the TikToker explained she opts for a similar approach - using the same products, but with a couple of slight twists.

She replied: “Removing top layer of dirt with kitchen paper. Left a dishwasher tab to soak then scrubbed with dishwasher tab in the sponge.”

One user also commented to say they would be giving the hack a whirl themselves, writing: “So clean. I need to try this.”

Last year another woman shared an equally great hack involving a dishwasher tablet - this time used to clean the sofa.

TikToker AJ Vaughan (@ajvaughan) showed how she puts the tablet in water and soaks a cloth in it, before wrapping it around a saucepan lid and running it over the sofa.

It comes up clean as a whistle and seems to take no time at all, also creating very little mess or disruption.

Who knew dishwasher tabs were so versatile?
