Mum branded a 'lifesaver' after sharing Dyson vacuum trick

A mum has shared a viral Dyson vacuum trick that the internet is loving!

When it comes to vacuum cleaners, the Dyson is second to none.

Sure, there are dupes on the market - but none quite compares to the cleaning power of the original.

Her trick has taken Instagram by storm.

However, some Dyson users have noticed a flaw in their beloved hoovers.

They can become less effective, and even break over time - which is not good for such a pricey item.

However, one mum has shared a viral hack that brought her Dyson vacuum back from the dead.

People all over the world are branding the trick a 'lifesaver.'

“We were about to throw our Dyson OUT! Cleaned the top filter and boom, works like new,” one said.

While another wrote: “This is so helpful. My Dyson has been doing this a lot lately! Thank you for sharing!”

It was deceptively simple.

Kait believed her vacuum was broken after it stopped sucking, and produced a strange pulsing sound.

It was also switching on and off in quick succession, leading her to believe it was broken.

But before throwing it out, she tried one simple trick to restore the cleaner to its former glory.

She first tried replacing the battery, but didn't see any difference.

Kait then realised that the strange sound was the sound of dirt blocking her vacuum's filter.

“If your vacuum sounds like this... the solution might be as simple as cleaning the filter,” she said on Instagram.

Many users don't realise that dirt can block the vacuum's filter, effecting performance.

Dyson users are advised to wash the filter at least once a month to help maintain the suction power.

“The story of how I fixed my beloved vacuum simply by cleaning it,” Kait said.

“Just because I know how to clean something, does not mean I am disciplined enough to do it regularly (clearly).”

The viral video shows Kait cleaning the filter and the other parts of her Dyson in a sink.

“Learn from my mistakes and never waste money on replacement parts until giving your ‘broken’ object a deep clean first,” she said.

“Now it is good as new again,” Kait said.

Kait's viral video has been viewed over two million times, with many praising this simple but effective method.

One wrote: “I had the same problem. I don’t know why but I decided to wash that filter and it worked fine. Been doing it ever since.”
