Picture this. You booked that holiday you’ve been desperate for, you’re on your way to the airport and your Instagram is about to be flooded with pictures of you living your best life.

You might be thinking that’s the best feeling in the world, and nothing at all could make it better.

Well, you could be wrong. Imagine all of that and then flying first-class to your destination?

For many of us, flying in luxury is something of a pipe dream due to the extortionate prices, usually in the thousands, we’d have to succumb to in order to wave economy class goodbye.

Yet there may be a glimmer of hope for those hoping to experience first-class without breaking the bank.

It’s always a breath of fresh air when somebody uses the power of social media for good - something which can certainly be said for TikToker and air hostess Cierra Mistt, who utilities the platform to document her high-flying lifestyle and the tricks of the trade.

Mistt’s videos are such a huge hit with viewers that she has surpassed more than three million followers.

During one of her recent videos, Mistt explains how you might be in with a chance of securing a first-class upgrade… for free. Free champagne and all!

There are two things to consider when hoping to secure that upgraded seat.

The TikToker said her tricks were easy and work 99% of the time.

The first is sitting in the very last row of the plane.

Mistt elaborates: “You might be thinking that sounds a little weird. But let me tell you why.

"On flights that are full, we normally have to move passengers for weight and balance purposes.

"And when we do that, it's normally come back to the front. And if that's the case, the flight attendants are gonna choose the people in that very last row to go up front because then they can sit down there after doing their service because it's a lot more comfy to sit in those passenger seats than it is the jump seat.

"But if you're watching this, keep this on the down low because we're literally not supposed to be sitting in those seats."

The second trick is dependent on whether or not you’re on a full flight, with Mist saying this way is 'even easier', and it works '99% of the time'.

Mistt explained: “Nowadays, you'll know if your flight is full and even overbooked because the gate agents will normally make an announcement at the beginning telling you that it's overbooked and that they need volunteers.

"They'll normally start really low at like $200 to $500 as an airport voucher. "Here's what you do instead. First go to the gate agent.

"Second, give them a price and say that you want that in cash.

"Last, but not least, when the gate agent is rebooking you for that next flight, make sure that they put you in first class to compensate for your time that you're losing because you had to get kicked from that flight.”

One commenter vouched for Mistt, writing: “I picked the last seats for a trip to Amsterdam and was moved to business class and had 4 seats to myself…both ways!!”

Another asked: “You can get cash instead of a voucher?”

Mistt helpfully responded: “Sure can - it’s in the policy.”

Noted to try later!
