A popular influencer has hit back at backlash she received online after many criticised her for posing with her baby over a balcony ledge.

Camila Coelho is best known online as a beauty and fashion influencer, which is certainly evident from her Instagram page.

On her travels, Camila posts pictures of herself in some of fashion's newest trends as well as cute pictures with her seven-month-old son, Kai.

But recently, Camila has faced a lot of criticism online due to a picture she posted on Instagram at the end of February.

The picture in question sees Camila standing on a balcony at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris.

The balcony picture has been criticised heavily online.

But right beside her is little Kai, who is balancing on top of the ledge with no other safety support other than the model's arm.

Another picture included in the post sees Camila holding up her infant son in the air as his feet dangle close to the edge.

A lot of fans pointed out similarities to when the late Michael Jackson dangled his then-infant son Blanket over the edge of a hotel balcony.

Jackson was met with similar outrage, which ended up with him having to apologise for his actions.

Anyhow, back to Camila, she captioned the controversial post with: "Kai’s first time in PARIS... so happy to be back (for PFW) and spend my birthday tomorrow here with him and hubby."

Many followers flocked to the comment section of the post to voice their concerns about the pictures.

"This picture makes me so nervous!!! Don’t put the baby in the balcony please!!!" one follower wrote.

A second added: "How far can you go for likes? Yes you are in Paris and yes, you have a view. No need to put a baby on the edge of a balcony."

The influencer has been flooded with comments.

Meanwhile, a third remarked: "Babies and balconies don’t go together. People will naturally get triggered."

Well, Camila has responded to the backlash that has come her way, and it's fair to say it's very different to the apology Jackson gave all those years ago.

Camila instead doubled down on the post, as she uploaded a video to Instagram of her sipping a cup of tea in the same spot with Kai that drew so much criticism just days beforehand.

Tyla has reached out to Camila for comment.
