Groom slammed as 'disrespectful' after arriving to his wedding in a coffin

People weren't best pleased after a groom showed up to his wedding in a coffin.

A groom has been slammed as 'disrespectful' after showing up to his own wedding by being carried in a coffin.

We can all agree that some of the things people do at their weddings are pretty darn weird.

There are a few obvious minefields like the best man's speech getting a bit inappropriate but people keep pushing the boat out further and further in terms of the weirdness.

It's the happy couple's special day and they should be able to have it how they want it, even if how they want it is blatantly a bit weird.

If the bride says 'put your phone down' while she's walking down the aisle then you do as you're told and put your phone down, which is one of the more normal requests.

If she fills a paddling pool with 30 pounds of pasta salad and declares that this is the wedding buffet then you smile politely and dig in, even if you have doubts about how clean it might be.

Nothing says 'happiest day of my life' like showing up in a coffin.

And if the groom says he wants you to carry down the aisle in a coffin then you get working on your coffin carrying technique.

That's exactly what one groom wanted for his big day, requiring a six person team to carry the casket containing him down the aisle for his wedding.

Filmed by somone who luckily wasn't on coffin carrying duty, the whole scene was captioned 'tell me you're dramatic without telling me you're dramatic'.

People watching the bizarre wedding scene unfold have been pretty unimpressed by the groom's antics.

One person took it as a sign that 'you don't want to get married' if you show up to your wedding in a coffin, while a second wondered 'is he trying to say his life is over now'.

A third said 'we would be divorced before we said I do' if that happened at their wedding.

Keep smiling and try not to act like the groom is getting out of a coffin right behind you.

Another said the guests looked 'all so embarrassed' and admitted they'd 'be embarrassed as well' if they had to lug their mate down the aisle to his own wedding in a coffin.

Someone else slammed the groom as 'disrespectful' and wondered what the bride must be thinking of his wedding day antics.

Others were expecting it to be the bride who burst out of the coffin, since it's the bride who usually gets the big moment of going down the aisle.

Meanwhile, one person was asking the real questions as they wondered why buy a coffin just for the stunt and 'where is it going to be kept'.

However, the groom soon responded with a TikTok of his own, and said that the coffin was to say 'rest in peace to the old me', while his partner revealed that he 'wasn't very happy' about it.
