Heartbreaker, you got the best of me.

Heartbreak is something most people will endure at some point in their life - luckily these ladies have managed to see the funny side of their misfortunes, and it's giving us LIFE.

Women are jumping onto Twitter and spilling the details about some of their messiest - and most relatable - ways of coping with a broken heart.

One wrote: "First time I was heartbroken I applied to the army, had me sitting on my bed asking God. Is this what you want? Huh?"

Another person confessed: "I slid down my bedroom wall like an R&B diva. That first heartbreak was paining me oh my days." We can hear Whitney Houston's 'It's Not Right, But It's Okay' playing in the background.

One social media user suggested that being heartbroken may have made them more productive: "You ever had to go to work the day after a heartbreak? You'll be doing jobs you're not even supposed to do cause you don't even remember what they employed you for in the first place," they said.

Someone else tweeted: "I was in Shoreditch, the bartender asked 'what can I do for you,' I said 'stop the pain'".

There were also a lot of really touching and very funny stories too. One person confessed to breaking down on their first day at their new job because they were so upset.

"One time I was so heartbroken I cried on the floor on my first day of work. They all looked at me like I was a mad woman. Like full on snotty type of cry, like breakdown type of cry."

Another person found a creative way of expressing how their shattered heart felt: "I was so heartbroken once I called him crying and cringed my popcorn packet and asked him if he could hear my heart shattering into pieces."

There were even flashbacks to heartbreaks in secondary school. One said: "I think my first heartbreak was in secondary [school]. I was so dramatic and lost I entered the bath with clothes on while listening to Chip [Oopsy] Daisy." For what it's worth, it was a UK number one back in 2009 so lots of people probably did the same.

Music was a big topic amongst many of the Twitter users confessing to how they reacted to heartbreak. Another person remembered singing Sam Smith in the shower. "You lot weren't under the shower crying to Sam smith 'Stay with me' whilst trying to not get your braids wet," they began.

"Someone asked why he wasn't at my birthday dinner and I had to leave the restaurant to gasp for air."

We do hope they all find love again!
