Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series has shot into the streamer’s top 10 since launching earlier this week, with viewers already hooked on her sun-kissed recipes and lifestyle hacks.

While the show isn’t acrtually filmed in her own home, in each episode she is joined by celebrity guests as they work their way through everything from lavender cooling cloths to homemade dog treats.

In episode three, chef Roy Choi shows her how to make kimchi, ‘quickles’ and tempura fried chicken with a choice of three flavourings.

That recipe comes from old Korean-style pub fried chicken,” he tells Meghan.

“And what they did was they would take all the beer from the night before or the end of the night, they would pour it in a huge container and then they would pour milk into it, and the milk breaks down the enzymes.”

After brining and parboiling the chicken, the pair turn to the batter – something that instigates a conversation about another nifty trick for an entirely different dish.

As Roy pours ‘ice-cold sparkling water’ into the batter, Meghan asks if it helps ‘make the batter extra crispy’, to which he responds: “Yes, exactly.”

Meghan then says: “Do you ever put cold sparkling water in your eggs before you scramble them?”

It’s not a hack Roy is familiar with, but Meghan explains: “Same sort of effect. Helps them rise, a little fluffy.”

Meghan tells him that all he needs is ‘just a tiny splash’, as the impressed chef replies: “Really? I’m gonna that.”

Many viewers were instantly won over by the idea, with one tweeting: "Meghan Markle adds sparkling water to her eggs to make them fluffy, so now I add sparkling water to my eggs to make them fluffy."

Someone else said: "Meghan mentioned that she adds a little bit of sparkling water to her eggs and now I gotta try it out so it's not swirling in my head."

A third added: "I do it all the time. Whisk egg. Add a table spoon of sparkling water or selzer per egg. I usually add a teaspoon of butter. Add to heated pan. It's very fluffy. Cook to your liking."

But not everyone seemed convinced, with one tweeting: “With wack ‘tips’ like this-sparkling water in scrambled eggs? Any kind of water in eggs is vile.”

Someone else wrote: “Yuck!!!”, while another said in disbelief: “Water?!!!”

Defending the surprisingly controversial addition, another replied: “Actually, sparkling water added (tiny bit) makes it airy. Like with crêpes. That is done.”
