Viewers have been saying a ‘steamy’ new psychological thriller series is so good they’re binge-watching it all in one go - and are so hooked they’re already calling for a second season.

Watch the trailer below:

Starring Eleanor Tomlinson, Sam Heughan, Alfred Enoch, Hugh Dennis and Jessica De Gouw, The Couple Next Door is a brand new thriller billed by Channel 4 as a ‘scintillating drama’.

It follows a young couple after they move to the suburbs and instantly strike up a friendship with their new neighbours, only to soon be left wondering if their new pals are a bit too friendly...

“The Couple Next Door is a deliciously dark, psychological drama, exploring the claustrophobia of suburbia and the fallout of chasing your deepest desires,” Channel 4 says.

“Directed by Dries Vos (Suspect, Professor T) and written by David Allison (Bedlam, Marcella) the six-part series is an addictive, emotional roller coaster and looks at how we never know what goes on behind closed doors.”

The first episode aired on TV last night (27 November), but many viewers admitted they’ve actually ended up watching it all in one go via Channel 4’s on-demand site.

Someone else said: “Just finished The Couple Next Door I’m not the same person anymore.”

A third wrote: “If anyone needs me for the next 5-6 hours I'll be binging The Couple Next Door.”

Another said they’d ‘binged’ the ‘first 2 eps’, saying it was an ‘intriguing mystery thriller with a great cast’ and it promised some good ‘twists and turns ahead’.

A fifth added: “Where do I start? The Couple Next Door did NOT disappoint. It’s hot. It’s intense. It’s not what I expected at all. What an amazing group of actors. Thanks to all cast and crew! (Now to go take a cold shower).”

It's also left critics hot under the collar, with The Guardian saying it’s a ‘juicy, farcical thriller to have some fun with’, while the Radio Times warns it’s an ‘incredibly moreish series that will keep you coming back for more’.
