It's been three days since the latest series of gripping romance-drama Tell Me Lies landed on our screens, and fans are still reeling from a harrowing new scene they've described as 'f*****d up'.
For those out of the loop with the Hulu hit, the show follows the dysfunctional lives of a group of college students - specifically Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White).
The pair have been involved in a highly-manipulative on-off relationship for some years now, with fans praying episode after episode that one of them will finally call it a day. Why? Because they're terrible for one another, but just can't stay away.

That was made clear from the moment Lucy got back at Stephen for leaving a college party with his ex all the way in season one, by sleeping with his best friend Evan, who just so happened to be the boyfriend of her best friend, Bree.

It's a bittersweet work of genius really.
Anyway, since then, a lot has happened.

Not only has Stephen discovered what Lucy and Evan got up to behind he and Bree's back, but he's ceaselessly threatening to tell her bestie, which would definitely end their friendship.

Meanwhile, we know that Stephen is also aware that Lucy lied about being sexually assaulted by their friend Lydia's brother, Chris.
Lucy had previously found out that Chris did rape their other friend, Pippa, who refused to come forward out of embarrassment, as well as another anonymous girl.

Enraged that their friendship group wouldn't believe victim no. 2, Lucy bizarrely claimed it was her that was assaulted, in an odd bid to have Pippa's heartache validated.
Are you with me so far?

Good. Then, discovering that Lucy hadn't been assaulted at all, however, a chilling new scene sees Stephen force her to be recorded admitting she was lying with a video camera, promising that if she did, he wouldn't tell Bree she'd slept with Evan.

The gut-wrenching scene sees Lucy repeatedly forced to confess, 'I need to apologise because I lied about rape, I was trying to protect a friend'.
Stephen tells her in response, 'You did it because you wanted attention'.
The tear-jerking moment has since sparked a passionate response from fans, who have praised producers for writing it into the script.
