Snoop Dogg has criticised a movie's depiction of LGBTQ+ characters after taking his grandson to watch a Pixar project - admitting one aspect of the story ‘threw [him] for a loop’.
The 53-year-old rapper - whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. - recently appeared on the It’s Giving podcast to speak about his marriage with Shante Broadus, parenting his four children, and masculinity.
During the conversation, Snoop Dogg admitted he once took one of his seven grandchildren to the cinema to see the 2022 Pixar film, Lightyear.
The animated action-adventure film centres on the character Buzz Lightyear, who appears in Toy Story as an action figure.

Lightyear is the first Pixar film to feature a same-gender kiss between Hawthorne (voiced by Uzo Aduba) and her wife, which resulted in it being banned from cinemas in the United Arab Emirates due to its ‘violation of the country's media content standards’.

Hawthorn and her partner also share a child in the children’s flick - a creative decision Snoop Dogg has particularly taken aim at.
Responding to host's Sarah Fontenot's claims that nowadays women are becoming more masculine and men more feminine, which she said she 'doesn't like' - Snoop replied: “What you see is what you see, and they're putting it everywhere.

"Why, my grandson in the middle of the movie like: 'Papa Snoop, how she have a baby with a woman? She a woman!’
“Oh s**t - I didn’t come here for this s**t," Snoop continued. "I just came to watch the goddamn movie.”

But his grandson pressed on, asking: "'They just said she and she had a baby — they're both women. How does she have a baby?'"

The ‘Gin and Juice’ hitmaker complained that the experience ‘f**ked [him] up'.
“I'm like, scared to go to the movies. Y'all throwing me in the middle of s**t that I don't have an answer for.
"It threw me for a loop. I'm like: 'What part of the movie was this?’”
Snoop barrelled on, confessing that he didn’t have ‘answers’ when questions regarding the LGBTQ+ community arose.

"These are kids. We have to show that at this age? Like, they’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”

People have come out in their droves to debate Snoop's comments, with one YouTube user writing: "The whining about that Lightyear movie having a lesbian scene in it never ceases to highlight how idiotic the outrage around it was/still is.
"The scene is literally just one of them holding a baby and having their arms around each other.

"It never implies 2 women made the baby at all. It's no wonder these people don't want these scenes or to explain anything to their children, despite that s**t literally being the point of being a parent.
"They're too stupid in the first place to be able to explain anything."
A second commented: "What a terrible take on the lesbian couple. It’s 2025 & y’all still being homophobic?"
"Dose he not know what adoption is?" said someone else.
Chris Evans, who voices Lightyear’s titular protagonist, has also previously called critics of the same-sex kiss ‘idiots’.
"Every time there’s been social advancement as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth and that’s what makes us good," he told Reuters.
"There’s always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before.”
He added: “But those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward and embrace the growth that makes us human."
