Olivia Attwood breaks silence on whether she will return to I’m A Celebrity this year

The Love Island star opened up about the situation

Now, I'm sure we're all very excited for this year's I'm A Celebrity to finally return to our screens once again.

Ever since the star-studded line-up got released last week (9 November), including the likes of Jamie Lynn Spears, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, we've all been sat at the edge of our sofas eager to get our next fix of Bushtucker Trials, insane challenges and a whole bunch of camp drama.

Many fans have since been looking back to last year's line-up and wondered what the crack is with Love Island alum, Olivia Attwood, who has now broken her silence on whether she will return to I'm A Celebrity this year after leaving after just one day in the jungle last season.

Shortly after she departed from I’m A Celeb so early, Olivia revealed to the Daily Mail that she underwent a routine blood test and was told she was dangerously anaemic, with low sodium and potassium levels - leaving the star 'worried' and 'confused'.

She told the outlet: "I was so scared, I was like 'what the hell is wrong with me?'.

"They couldn't give me an answer, they just told me that they had to get me to the hospital immediately.

"The results were really, really low when they put them into their reader and they consulted with another doctor off site. I had those bloods done in England before I left, and they were fine. I was confused and of course very, very worried."

Olivia, who was 'absolutely devastated' by her early departure from the ITV programme, added: "If I went back into camp, they feared my levels might drop and it could be detrimental to my health and wellbeing.

"They were not willing to authorise my return and therefore I wasn't insured."

Flash-forward a year and Olivia has confirmed she will not be returning to the jungle.

Taking to her Instagram over the weekend (12 November), the 32-year-old explained: "I wasn’t going to talk about anything jungle related because if I’m honest, the way things played out last year still makes my heart hurt… and brain.

"I have been avoiding Instagram, but the sheer volume of you messaging about the show, commenting and meeting you in person etc I feel like it’s wrong not to speak to you guys."

She went on to reveal: "I couldn’t commit to going back this year. It wasn’t the right time for me.

"There were many things that I had to weigh up, but ultimately the sheer intensity of my schedule doesn’t allow for that much time 'out of the office'…"

Olivia revealed she may re-enter the Aussie bush 'when the time is right'.

The former Islander assured fans she'd read all their messages about the show and told them: "Your support and love I will never ever take for granted."

She did, however, tease that she may re-enter the Aussie bush 'when the time is right' in the future.

"One day I hope when the time is right. We can finish my jungle story for you guys and for myself," she added.

The full line-up for the upcoming series includes Brexiteer Nigel Farage, JLS singer Marvin Humes, This Morning presenter Josie Gibson, social media influencer Nella Rose, EastEnders actor Danielle Harold, Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, former professional boxer Tony Bellew, Hollyoaks' Nick Pickard, Italian jockey Frankie Dettori and Masterchef's Grace Dent.
