I'm a Celeb's Olivia Attwood forced to quit after just 24 hours

I'm a Celeb's Olivia Attwood forced to quit after just 24 hours

She had only just entered the jungle.

Olivia Attwood has been forced to quit the latest season of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! after spending just a day in the Australian jungle.

The Love Island alumni, 31, has been forced to withdraw from the reality program on medical grounds, despite becoming the first Love Islander to also make their way to the jungle.

As reported by The Sun, an insider said: "Olivia was involved in a medical drama overnight.

"She really wanted to go back into the camp but medics won't let her."

The news comes after reality TV fans saw Attwood make her way into the jungle in the opening episode last night (6 November), where she was voted the jungle VIP by viewers at home.

This saw Attwood have the ability to enjoy her first (and now only) night in the jungle with a meal, and she was allowed to pick another celebrity to join her - an honour she gave to Chris Moyles.

The former Love Islander said of being the chosen VIP: "I am equal parts flattered and unnerved the public voted for me to be a VIP... I'm guessing they know more of what that entails than I do."

As is customary for some celebrities entering the jungle, Attwood also got the chance to jump out of a plane to begin her adventure.

This saw her jump a staggering 10,000ft and make a much more dramatic entrance than she did when she first appeared on our screens on Love Island.

She said afterwards: "Oh my god I'm crying, that's the most amazing thing I've ever done, ever. That is incredible. Top 10 experience of my life. Just amazing."

Attwood previously opened up about her plans to take on the jungle and said that she would be annoyed at herself if she ever had to admit defeat in a challenge and say: "I'm a celebrity… get me out of here!"

She said: "I think if you say you are never going to say it you are jinxing yourself. I would hate to say it and I think it would take a hell of a lot for me to say it because I am quite determined and I have watched the show for years."

Attwood's early departure from the show comes ahead of what would have been her first trial, as her VIP status actually stood for Very Isolated Person.

This twist was to see her marooned on an island with Moyles and the other two VIPs, Boy George and Scarlette Douglas.

They were told that they would be taking on the very first trial of the season before they would be allowed to join their fellow celebrities in the main camp.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight on ITV at 9pm.
