Netflix viewers are saying there’s an underrated thriller that is one of the best TV shows they’ve ever watched – despite the fact you’ve likely never heard of it.

Check out the trailer below:

After a busy party season, many of us are looking forward to hunkering down this January to hibernate on the sofa in front of the TV.

Thankfully, we’ve got plenty to get through, thanks to the return of addictive shows like The Tourist and The Traitors, along with the latest Harlan Coben adaptation, Fool Me Once.

But there’s one series you may have missed that Netflix fans are LOVING – and, better still, there are not one but three seasons waiting for you to get through.

The show itself was actually first released back in 2017, but has since garnered a legion of adoring fans around the world.

There are three seasons for you to work your way through.

It’s a sci-fi thriller called Dark, which follows locals in a fictional town in Germany as they deal with the aftermath of a child’s disappearance.

A synopsis from Netflix says: “A missing child sets four families on a frantic hunt for answers as they unearth a mind-bending mystery that spans three generations.”

Since the first episode aired six years ago, the incredible show has gone on to thrill audiences with a second and third season – the latter of which dropped in 2020.

While many people enjoyed the series when it originally came out, many others are only just discovering it now thanks to word of mouth online.

One person tweeted: “Watching this German show called Dark and holy s**t it's one of the greatest things I've ever seen. About to finish season 2.”

You will be HOOKED.

Someone else said: “Dark on Netflix is the greatest show I've ever seen.”

Adding: “Must be watched in German with subtitles, the English dub is terrible.”

A third wrote: “Dark (German) is one of the best sci-fi TV shows ever made, perhaps the best.”

Another gushed: “If you want your mind blown and watch arguably the best show ever made watch Dark on Netflix. It’s a German series and it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Watch seasons one to three of Dark on Netflix now - perfect for when you've inevitably rattled through the latest instalment of The Tourist in one sitting, right?
