MAFS UK's Polly reveals husband Adam banned her from one thing and 'stormed out' if she did it

Channel 4 couple Polly and Adam have endured a rocky relationship on the show so far

Ever since tying the knot last month, Married At First Sight UK stars Adam Valentine and Polly Sellmann have gone on to become one of the most controversial couples on the show.

And today, in a brand new revelation, 28-year-old Polly has lifted the lid on a dubious restriction that Adam, 33, instilled into their relationship during the first few episodes of the Channel 4 hit.

As we say, Adam and Polly's experience of the on-screen romance experiment has been far from smooth sailing.

Just hours after tying the knot, viewers were disappointed to hear Adam ranting about his new bride being far from his usual 'type'.

"10 out of 10 for me would be petite, brunette, dark features, tan," he said at the time. "She's not what I expected."

And things only went from bad to worse in the following weeks, after Adam backhandedly described Polly as having a 'bubbly personality', gave her the cold shoulder just days after the pair spent the first intimate night together, and ranted to another groom about the lack of attraction he felt towards his bride.

He's also previously been accused of exhibiting 'vile' behaviour towards his Mrs, and has given sofa critics 'the ick' over his 'shameful' reaction to another bride.

Naturally, therefore, followers of MAFS UK were concerned - but likely, not surprised - to hear Polly today open up on a rule that Adam put into place during the first few days of their romance, claiming he informed her he'd 'leave' if she refused to obey it.

Taking to Instagram today to give her colossal new online following a glimpse into the realities of their romance, Polly embarked on a discussion about bodily functions.

Asked specifically about breaking wind, she claimed Adam had set some ground rules that she was forced to follow in order to stay in the relationship.

"Yeah it is normal," she penned in the caption to a Story.

"But I wasn't allowed to fart because he said it was disgusting and he'd leave."

Polly's discussion on flatulence came just hours after Adam also took to social media to settle his stance on the subject.

"Okay this needs to be settled," he wrote. "Is it normal for a woman to fart in front of their partners or male friends?

"As I've never heard a woman fart until MAFS."

The poll revealed that 57 percent of people voted 'yes, grow up', while nine percent said 'no, that's gross' and 35 percent said 'not yet, maybe a year down the line'. He also added a GIF that read 'who farted?'

While we're not entirely sure what prompted their discussion about passing gas, we reckon we can predict what tonight's episode has in store.
