He landed in the I'm A Celeb jungle less than 48 hours ago, but already, viewers are seemingly obsessed with a contestant known as 'AngryGinge'.

In recent years, ITV producers have taken a punt in booking more and more social media stars, content creators, and influencers in an attempt to diversify viewership. At first, thousands of boomers voiced their classic 'They're not even famous' complaint.

But following the success of TikTok star and podcaster GK Barry last year - who won over the nation and came in fifth place -, it's no surprise that telly bosses were keen to bag another social media sensation for the 2025 instalment.

And by the sounds of things, they landed right on the money in booking a man known online as 'AngryGinge', with viewers casting over one million votes last night (17 Oct) to see the 24-year-old take on the next Buchtucker Trial.

Here's everything we know about the record-breaking streamer.

Who is 'AngryGinge'?

In October 2020, a Salford, Greater Manchester teenager known named Morgan Burtwistle joined the interactive live-streaming service Twitch, upon which he shared FIFA gameplay, having been inspired by another user known as 'Castro1021'.

Burtwistle, meanwhile, selected the username 'AngryGinge13', given the flame-red shade of his hair.

During his first live-stream, Burtwistle only accumulated 40 viewers whilst playing the football simulation video game.

Undiscouraged, however, following a short break, he returned to Twitch in March 2021, where he set his heart on playing and streaming full-time. Also around this time, the teen set up a both a TikTok and YouTube account to boost his followers.

Why is he famous?

Over time, 'Ginge' accumulated hundreds of thousands of subscribers, often collaborating with other streamers and social media stars - including the Sidemen, a collection of British YouTube, the most famous of whom is KSI.

He played with the group for a charity football match in London in 2023, before participating in the 'Match For Hope' the following year alongside internet celebrity Chunkz.

2024 also saw 'Ginge' taking on a number of social media stunts, including founding an EA Sports FC 24 professional sports club, which gained popularity online after darts champ Luke Littler and ex-England player Wayne Rooney joined.

Several charity matches, YouTube streaming series', Streaming Award nominations and internet collaborations, 'Ginge' is now considered one of the world's best known streamers, having racked up a staggering 1.4+ million followers on Twitch, and more than 818,000 subscribers on YouTube.

"I'm ginger," his Twitch profile bio reads. "I have a joke and a laugh, don't be offended! My real name is Morgan. I play games and stuff. Come watch! ! (Main aim is to entertain)."

'Ginge' is first said to have caught the attention of TV producers earlier this summer, however, when he participated in Soccer Aid 2025 for UNICEF, playing for 'Team England' against 'World XI', and was subsequently awarded 'Man of the Match'.

What has he said about being in the IAC jungle?

With ITV having broadcast the live game, it's no surprise that I'm A Celeb bosses were subsequently hot on his tail when casting this current series.

And when the official last list was announced earlier this month, fans couldn't believe their ears.

"All these OAP’s on twitter not knowing who the icon that is AngryGinge is, is ridiculous!!" one X user jibed.

Others, however, questioned how a streamer could have bagged himself a spot on the A-list flight Down Under, hitting out: "Watching #ImACeleb & who on earth is 'angryGinge' .... Itv & the public class anyone as a celebrity these days it seems."

Another questioned: "Who the hell is angryginge and why is he a Celeb?"

Apparently, though, it didn't take for the online star to win over even the most hard-faced viewers, and he's been nominated to take on two dreaded Bushtucker Trials on the trot.

Asked previously how it feels to be plunging into the Australian jungle, 'Ginge' previously told press of his fans: "If I am honest, I think most of them will vote for me to do every single trial.

"There is not one trial I am looking forward to, but I would never say 'no' to the challenges."

He added of the show: "When I got approached to be on I’m A Celebrity, I said 'yes' immediately because it’s a bucket list item. I’ve watched the show on the sofa with my mum ever since I was a kid.

"To take part in it this year is something I couldn’t pass up on."

The social media star continued: "But my whole life is spent on the phone. I’ve been away once for a week. And so, two to three weeks without it is going to be very educational to see how I will do!"
