It's been five days now since the world cosied up on their sofas on Christmas Day to catch the eagerly-anticipated Gavin and Stacey finale episode.
Many of us are frankly still reeling from the episode, which saw Smithy (James Corden) at long last finally tie the knot with Nessa (Ruth Jones).
However, it's clear BBC viewers are in shock over another totally separate Gavin and Stacey element after finding out who the actress who plays Smithy's mum actually is.

The actress who played Smith's mum, Cath Smith, on the beloved British sitcom is none other than Pam Ferris, 76.
However, while she only actually appeared in two episodes before the finale, her character soon became a fan-favourite leaving many viewers in stitches for her more-than-memorable scenes, including accidentally flashing Nessa on a video call, or relentless going on about her narcolepsy.
However, it's clear Pam's got quite the acting portfolio beyond Gavin and Stacey after starring on a number of blockbuster smash-hits and many famed TV series throughout her decade-spanning career.
While Pam's most notable role is the evil and twisted Miss Trunchbull in Matilda, she's also starred in Rosemary & Thyme, Call the Midwife, Nativity! and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban just to name a handful.
After making the bombshell discovery that Smithy's mum is also the grizzly Miss Trunchbull, BBC viewers raced to social media to share their reactions to the news.
One X user hit out: "MISS TRUNCHBALL IS SMITHY'S MUM?"
"I still can't get over the fact that Smithy's mum is Mrs. Trunchbull," quipped a second, while a third gushed: "So I have only just found out that the same actress played Sister Evangelina in Call The Midwife, Mrs. Trunchbull in Matilda, and Smithy’s mum in Gavin and Stacey.
"Pam Ferris’s range is unrivalled."
A fourth chimed in: "Omg? Smithy's mam from Gavin and Stacey was the same actress who played Miss Trunchball!"
"How have I only just found out that Miss Trunchball is Smithy’s mum in Gavin and Stacey… AND Aunt Marge in Harry Potter????" piped up a fifth.
"Does it blow anyone else’s mind that the woman who played Miss Trunchball in Matilda also plays Smithys mum in Gavin and Stacey?" asked a sixth.
Another echoed: "I can’t believe it took me this long to realise that Smithy's mum from Gavin & Stacey is also Mrs Trunchball lmaoooo."
And a final X user confessed: "My brain still can’t process that the person who plays Smithy’s mum from Gavin and Stacey also played Miss Trunchball!"
