There's a brand-new true crime doc that's just dropped - perfect for anyone looking for something new to sink their teeth into after rattling through all of Adolescence in just one sitting!

It didn't take long for docu-film in question, which landed on Netflix only on Tuesday (25 March), to skyrocket straight to the 'No. 1 in Films Today' slot on the streamer with many rushing to social media to share their rave reviews.

In fact, such viewers have issued a warning to fellow true crime aficionados after the 'brutal' real-life story about what the streamer dubs a 'con for the ages' which has left them 'crying their eyes out'.

The film is none other than Con Mum and follows Michelin star pastry chef Graham Hornigold who, for 45 years of his life, had lived without a mother.

Born in Germany before his alcoholic, physically abusive, army veteran father moved him to the UK, he'd only ever known that his mum had left when he was a baby and had never since gotten in touch.

It wasn't until Graham's own wife - fellow pâtissier Heather Kaniuk - fell pregnant with their first child in 2020 that Graham felt compelled to deep-dive into his parentage. So, with plenty of time afforded to them by the national lockdowns, the couple began their search.

Despite being confronted by several dead ends, Graham was blindsided one day to receive an email from a woman named Dionne - known formerly known as Theresa - who claimed to be his mother.

Even more shockingly, Dionne disclosed to the couple - not only that she was the owner of several global enterprises - but that she'd inherited a mass fortune, being the alleged illegitimate daughter of the former Sultan of Brunei.

Little did Graham know at the time, that in the months that followed, Dionne would rob the chef of a staggering six-figure sum and leave him picking up the pieces of yet another broken parental relationship...

After watching the shocking doc, people rushed to social media to share their thoughts with one X user writing: "Omfg Con Mum on Netflix."

"Guys #ConMumNetflix is such a hectic documentary omg this is one of the rare scam stories where I can’t even call the victim that naive," admitted a second.

A third reviewed: "The documentary Con Mum on Netflix was brutal af. Like she's so wicked she scammed a lot of people, her own son was the saddest part coz that added the family trauma he already had."

"Con Mum on Netflix has to be seen to be believed," warned a fourth. "I won't spoil it but I was left stunned at what happened."

A fifth confessed: "Nearly finished Con Mum on Netflix and I’m literally crying my eyes out for this man."

Con Mum is currently available to stream on Netflix.
