Channel 4 issues statement after MAFS star Luke Worley urges fans to watch him attack Jordan Gayle

Channel 4 issues statement after MAFS star Luke Worley urges fans to watch him attack Jordan Gayle

The pair have been at loggerheads since falling out on the E4 series

The current series of Married At First Sight UK (MAFSUK) has had us reaching for either the popcorn or the tissues with every episode.

Among the controversial clashes and emotional outbursts that have aired on the dating series so far is the bitter spat between contestants Luke Worley and Jordan Gayle.

It was revealed last week that Essex salesman Luke, 30, had been axed from the programme after a physical altercation with co-star, Jordan, a 26-year-old personal trainer.

A show insider told MailOnline last week that the duo had 'struggled to get along from the moment they met', adding, 'but no one was expecting them to clash like they eventually did'.

They added: "The cast attend a couples' retreat and during dinner things got particularly heated between them and later they come to blows inside Jordan's apartment.

"Channel 4 bosses had no choice but eject Luke from the programme, which consequently ended his wife Jay's time in the process... as per the show's rules you enter as a couple and leave as a couple. The fight was caught on camera, meaning there's every chance it could be shown in the most explosive scenes ever to be aired on Married At First Sight UK."

And earlier today, Luke shocked viewers by threatening Jordan in a now-deleted Instagram post (obtained by the MailOnline), which sees him encouraging viewers to tune into Monday night's episode to see him fight with his co-star.

"If you upset my wife you will know about it," Luke wrote on his now-removed story. "Tune in on Monday to see me slap Jordan the p***y."

He also added the hashtag '#ChatS**tGetBanged'.

Channel 4 has also issued a statement today, telling the Mail: "The wellbeing of cast and crew is our utmost priority at all times throughout production and beyond.

"We have a zero-tolerance policy towards violence and we take any behaviour of this nature very seriously.

"We took prompt action as soon as this incident occurred, and Luke was subsequently removed from the experiment. This will all be addressed in Monday's episode."

They added: "We do not condone any form of violence, or aggressive language, and have raised the matter with the cast member concerned."

Speaking on the matter after news of the leak shocked viewers, Jordan told his TikTok followers: "What's up guys, this is my response to what's been leaked today about me clashing with Luke.

"Now, there's a lot to say, there's a lot that goes down but you're going to see all the drama unfold in front of your eyes over the next couple of weeks on your TV screens.

"The time is not right to talk now, I don't know who is leaking it to the press and I don't know why they're doing it, it's got nothing to do with them. So I do agree with Luke on that, even though we don't agree on many things."

He added of the leak: "Whoever is doing it, just stop. Now, when the time is right I'll be able to tell you everything that happened and why it happened - and what really went down."
