Bridgerton fans have been left divided over an 'editing error' eagle-eyed viewers spotted in the new episodes.

Season four of the beloved Regency era TV show dropped onto Netflix on 29 January, to the delight of fans who have been dying for another instalment.

After gushing over Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) finding love with Simon (Regé-Jean Page) in the first series, obsessing over Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate's (Simone Ashley) enemies to lover arc in season two, and tearing up at Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin's (Luke Newton) blossoming romance in season three, many were eagerly waiting for another Bridgerton sibling's love story to play out.

And this season is all about Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), AKA the mysterious 'Lady in Silver'.

But one particular moment featuring another character has gone viral on TikTok, with viewers convinced they've seen an editing and costuming error.

One social media user shared a clip of actress Katie Leung, who plays Lady Araminta Gun, the former Lady Penwood, in character but pointed out what looks like a plaster, or as Americans would say, a Band-Aid, on the top of her ear - likely to cover up a piercing.

They joked: "Dearest gentle readers... it appears this might be Cho Chang after all.. bandaids in this era?! The ton want to know."

While someone else agreed: "It’s a plaster lol, there’s so many errors in this season, queen charlotte has a tragus I think, and the green screen in some scenes is shocking."

And a third agreed: "I saw another post where an actresses [sic] cartilage piercing wasn't covered or edited out during the garden party I believe and people were going nuts over it.”

"Yeah, I wish they had covered it better - like put a fancy ear cuff up there or something," quipped a fourth.

Someone else chimed in with: "Band aid invented in 1920, meanwhile in 1800."

However, others pointed out that this really isn't that important, after all, it's not like Bridgerton is trying to be historically accurate anyway.

While it's set during the Regency era, the show has been clear from the start that it doesn't intend to be historically accurate and instead presents a fictional, reimagined and more modern portrayal of the time period.

"I don’t get why anyone cares about this stuff tbh. It’s very subtle and Bridgerton clearly doesn’t care about historical accuracy," one person quipped.

A second user wrote in the comments: "Yall need to learn to just watch and move on. It’s not that serious. I didn’t even notice something so small."

Another agreed: "People forget it’s a production like people are putting on a show here. Cmon guys it’s not real life."

While somebody else said: "Guys its Bridgerton. It's not supposed to be historically accurate."

And a final user simply wrote: "Y'all have too much time on your hands."

Tyla has contacted Netflix for comment.
