Christmas movies aren't for everyone...

While the likes of Love Actually and The Holiday can acceptably be listed as 'rom com hits' as opposed to just festive films, the majority of Christmas classics are infamously corny, with cringe-worthy scripts, cliché narratives and far, far, far too many songs.

And one particular Netflix Original movie has been absolutely rinsed by viewers - many of whom are branding it the 'worst Christmas film ever'.

Despite having an impressive, big-name cast - starring the likes of The Hangover bombshell Heather Graham and American Pie legend Jason Biggs - this new movie has already secured itself a less than mediocre 41 percent critic score, and an even lower audience score of 19 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Ironically titled Best. Christmas. Ever!, the latest merry addition to the streaming service's festive roster sees one mother-of-two Charlotte (Graham) turning up to her bitter ex-best friend Jackie's (singer Brandy Norwood) house on Christmas day.

Heather Graham has the lead role in the Christmas flop.

Despite attempting to find out once and for all whether Jackie's overly supercilious annual newsletter claims are true, Charlotte goes on a mission to uncover the true imperfections to Jackie's life.

What starts off as an arguably comedic sabotage mission quickly turns to a pity party, after Charlotte discovers that Jackie's son has in fact, secretly passed away.

The drastic change of pace and newly-bleak tone leaves the viewer rather uncomfortable, even after the moral of the story becomes clear; Charlotte's husband Rob (Biggs) points out that she is only trying to find something wrong with Jackie's life because she is so unhappy with her own.

Brandy Norwood and Jason Biggs also star in the Netflix film.

Wow, we really didn't see that one coming...

But while the movie ends on a happy note, with the ex-BFFs seemingly making amends for the sake of Christmas, the movie has been slammed by viewers online.

"Best. Christmas. Ever! could possibly be the worst Christmas movie ever," one Netflix user comedically wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

A second added: "Best. Christmas. Ever! on Netflix is the Worst. Film. Ever. Avoid or even better, poke your eyes out. That's far more enjoyable than putting yourself through this waste of 1.5hrs."

The movie features a star-studded cast.

Another viewer argued that the streaming service should be ashamed of producing the movie, writing: "Netflix's Best Christmas Ever is the worst movie I've ever watched... you guys should be ashamed for airing this".

"Best Christmas ever on @netflix may simply be the absolute worst Christmas movie I have ever suffered through", a fourth chimed.

Among the negative reviews, there were a few viewers who actually enjoyed the Christmas movie.

One wrote: "Rewatched it twice already."

Another added: "Best Christmas ever on Netflix was pretty good it wasn’t super predictable like most Christmas movies I actually enjoyed it lol."

Best. Christmas. Ever! is streaming on Netflix now.
