If you're after some proper good viewing material to help cure those January blues then look no further than Netflix which has just released an insanely 'creepy' psychological horror that is leaving viewers terrified.

The film, which first hit cinemas in 2019, stars the likes of Riley Keough, Jaeden Martell, Lia McHugh, Alicia Silverstone, and Richard Armitage.

The official Netflix premise reads: "Snowed in with her fiancé's two children at a remote cabin, a woman haunted by the past begins to suspect that she's caught in a terrifying trap."

The plot follows soon-to-be stepmother (Keough) alone with her fiancé's two children when, all of a sudden, the trio becomes stranded at their rural lodge during Christmas.

There, she and the kids (Martell and McHugh) experience a number of unexplained events that seem to be connected to her extremely dark past.

And viewers clearly couldn't wait to offer their thoughts on the flick, with many rushing to social media to share their verdicts.

One YouTube user penned: "Fantastic film that truly grasps the concept of and amazingly executes psychological horror.

"As a long-time horror fan who’s seen almost everything, it takes a lot to scare me nowadays, but this film had me on edge almost the whole time."

"I just watched this last night and thought it was fantastic," praised a second. "It’s definitely a psychological thriller more than horror but I was mind blown at the twist.

"It plays your emotions well, by the end you don’t know who to feel sorry for- all of them, really. Tragic, suspenseful, original. I liked it a lot."

Fans couldn't wait to praise the '10/10' psychological thriller.

A third chimed in: "Great movie, do not expect jump scares, paranormal or gore. This one is more of a psychological thriller. Worth watching."

Someone else gushed: "Really good movie. I love psychological thriller movies and this one of the best ones I've seen."

Another quipped: "This movie was damn good... it doesn't rely on jump scares, or a ton of predictable plot... it's bleak, keeps you guessing and will leave you shook!"

A final viewer echoed: "This was honestly one of the scariest horrors I've seen in my life, was gripped the whole way through, lots of twists and the audio was bone chilling a true 10/10."

Well, I know what I'll be watching this evening.

The Lodge is currently available to stream on Netflix.
