Netflix is finally dropping Money Heist spin-off this week

IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!

Netflix, at long-last, is dropping its eagerly-anticipated Money Heist spin-off this week and fans are going absolutely wild for it.

Set to hit the streaming platform this Friday (29 December), the new instalment of the beloved series see the likes of Berlin (Pedro Alonso) assemble a new crew to take on a multimillion-dollar heist.

The official synopsis reads: "During his glory days, Berlin and a gang assembled in Paris for one of his greatest plans ever: stealing 44 million euros' worth of jewels in one night."

Flashing back to the character's youth, viewers can cosy up from the comfort of their sofa to watch the masterful gang gather to plan one of his most ambitious robberies ever.

The latest series, brought to you by Money Heist creator Álex Pina and his Sky Rojo collaborator, Esther Martínez Lobato, centres around Berlin long before he found out about his terminal diagnosis and takes the Royal Mint of Spain hostage.

"It’s a trip through the golden age of the character, when he robbed around Europe crazy in love," Pina told Tudum.

In short, the upcoming series if packed to the brim with all the tension, travel, romance and humour you could want, with Pina telling Alonso: "That’s the most surprising, the comedy. You’re going to make people laugh a lot."

Joining Alonso includes the likes of Michelle Jenner as Keila, Tristán Ulloa as Damián, Begoña Vargas as Cameron, Julio Peña as Roi and Joel Sánchez as Bruce.

Fans are already clearly buzzing for the spin-off to finally drop with many rushing to social media to share their excitement.

One YouTube user penned: "This series has the potential to really be a good spin-off. I really hope it connects to Money Heist. Can't wait!!"

Berlin will premiere on Netflix on 29 December.

A third chimed in: "Hyped for the new Berlin series! Hoping that Netflix doesn't disappoint us this time!"

"Oh my god!" echoed a fourth fan. "I can't control my emotions. Money Heist is my favourite and I love Berlin. I'm his biggest fan. Can't wait anymore!"

"Finally the wait is over after a long time," added another, while someone else praised: "The only spin-off I care about!"

Berlin will premiere on Netflix on 29 December.
