Even though some of the acts at last night’s VMAs were raunchy, Katy Perry’s performance brought out two very different reactions from celebs in the crowd.
The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards kicked off provided the best performances of the year, with singers from across the globe proving that their nominations and awards were rightly given.
From Sabrina Carpenter, Megan Thee Stallion and Chappell Roan to Katy Perry, the best singers of the year took to the stage at the UBS Arena in New York with some banging hits.
One of those, however, was Perry’s 10-minute medley which pulled two quite different reactions, one from Taylor Swift and one from her fiancé Orlando Bloom which left fans in stitches.

It was just before Perry accepted her Video Vanguard Award by, Bloom, who shared an emotional speech about her.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star began: "You fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson.
"You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light, and her unique sense of humour to every song she writes and music video she creates.
"I know her as a mother, as a partner who brings that same love and joy to our family."
But it was before this speech that he was caught with an incredibly awkward reaction to her 'I Kissed a Girl', 'Teenage Dream' and 'E.T' performance.
While she was on stage, cameras panned to her beau who seemed a little taken aback as Perry got up close and personal with rapper Doechii.
When the two musicians shared a kiss, Bloom laughed and clapped his hands.
Now, this isn’t how T-Swift reacted, who seemed all for the raunchy display.
The singer was caught dancing along to the songs while she was in the crowd, and when the infamous booty jiggle, scissor-scene was going on, she opened her mouth in delighted shock and seemed amped up about the choreography.
Fans at home who noticed how she seemed to support the move took to X to praise her as a Katy Cat (Katy Perry’s fanbase nickname).
One person wrote: “OH TAYGOD, KATYCATS LOVE YOU!!”
Another said: “Seema Taylor knows all Katy songs.”
Someone else wrote: “She knows who mother is.”
Of course, she looked like she was enjoying the show as much as anyone else.
But little did Swift know that that night would end with her becoming the most decorated solo artist in history after bagging her 30th VMA award.
The 'Bad Blood' singer broke Beyoncé’s solo award-record after she managed to take home seven awards in different categories yesterday.
This was probably a thorn in Kayne West’s side, who in 2009, jumped the stage during her first ever VMA award and told her that Beyoncé should have won instead.
Well, well…how the tables have turned.
