The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards kicked off last night and fans across the globe were treated to a whole bunch of stand-out performances from the hottest in the charts right now.

The likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Megan Thee Stallion, Chappell Roan and Katy Perry took to the stage at the packed UBS Arena in New York delighting crowds with dazzling performances of their greatest hits.

However, it seems like Orlando Bloom’s reaction to the 'Firework' singer's NSFW VMA performance was what really caught viewers' attention after leaving fans in absolute stitches.

Now, during the evening, Katy took home the prestigious MTV Video Vanguard Award and was lucky enough to be given the award by her partner, Orlando, who shared an emotional speech about their relationship beforehand.

The Lord of the Rings star began: "You fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson.

"You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light, and her unique sense of humour to every song she writes and music video she creates.

"I know her as a mother, as a partner who brings that same love and joy to our family."

He then ended the heartfelt speech telling Katy: "Congratulations on this honour, baby."

However, before receiving the accolade, Katy performed a bunch of her biggest tracks including; 'I Kissed a Girl', 'Teenage Dream' and 'E.T'.

Naturally, while on stage, the cameras panned to her beau in the audience to capture his reaction and, well, it seemed he didn't know the lyrics to some of the songs.

Taking no time at all to share their discovery, one hawk-eyed viewer took to X sharing: "Every cut to Orlando Bloom makes it seem like this is the first time he’s heard a Katy Perry song."

A second chimed in: "Orlando Bloom has never heard a single Katy Perry song."

"Orlando Bloom is reacting to this performance as if he’s never heard a single Katy Perry song before what is going on #VMAs," penned another.

And a final X user pointed out that while the Hollywood A-lister may not know every single lyric of Katy's extensive discography - six albums and 40 singles to be exact - he was her biggest supporter.

"Orlando Bloom has never heard a Katy Perry song in his life, but good for him for supporting her," they joked.

I guess that's what counts, right?
