The Super Bowl half time performance is one of the most coveted slots around, that can make (or break) someone's career.
Rapper Bad Bunny is the latest artist to be given the honour of entertaining the world for the Super Bowl LX halftime show, and the news was confirmed on Sunday.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history,” Bad Bunny said in a statement.
He will be performing at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Many of his fans are understandably thrilled for the Puerto Rican superstar, however, some critics have pulled him up on something following the massive announcement.

Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has previously insisted he won't tour in the United States.
Just weeks ago, he explained why he wouldn't be bringing the Debi Tirar Mas Fotos tour to the US, and it's for political reasons.

He feared immigration officers 'could be outside' his shows.
He told I-D: “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, and none of them were out of hate – I’ve performed there many times.
“All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent. I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the US,” he continued. “But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the US…People from the US could come here to see the show.”
“Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world, but there was the issue of – like, f***ing ICE could be outside. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Unhappy fans are challenging his comments following the Super Bowl news.
"The concept of refusing to perform in the us to protest against the ICE and then agreeing to do the superbowl lmfao," slammed one.
Another added: "I thought he didn’t wanna perform in America."

"Wild how America will pack stadiums for Latin music but still treat Latino workers like they’re invisible," added one disappointed fan.
One person argued: "The Latin musical artists are LEGAL to live here the others ICE has been rounding up are ILLEGALS."
"I thought he wasn’t performing in the USA? Is the Super Bowl in Puerto Rico?" joked one.
Jay-Z defended Bad Bunny, insisting: “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage."
