It's been days now since Justin Bieber stripped off to his underwear for a performance at the Grammys, and more details are emerging about the bold choice.
For those who missed it, the Canadian singer, 31, took to the stage at the annual music awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (1 February) in nothing but a pair of satin sparkly purple boxer shorts and socks.
The star showed off his array of body tattoos, as well as getting some promo in for the boxers, which are from his own SKYLRK brand. He showcased his spine-tingling vocal skills during an intimate performance of his song 'YUKON,' without any huge fancy production aids or backing dancers.
Fans believe the stripped-back (in more ways than one) performance was 'symbolic' to show off his skills and prove to people that all he needs is his voice.

One X user penned: "The symbolism of him being shirtless in socks like fr no props, no dancers, no special effects, just his bare talent and raw vocals almost acapella because only HE can pull that off."

While a second agreed: "Truthfully, I think Justin performed in that attire and small production to prove a point that he doesn’t need a huge production and glam to be the best. his vocals outshined everything and everyone tonight. incredible."
While the Grammys has no official dress code, some viewers were surprised by Bieber's lack of clothing - and now, a Grammys executive producer has lifted the lid on how the memorable performance came together.
Speaking on on Monday's episode of the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, Winston admitted that the outfit choice wasn't entirely pre-planned.
He explained: "I don’t think he decided what the outfit would be until he walked on stage."
Adding: 'He's not even really going, "This is what I'm going to do." When we had got reached out to him about his creative, he was just like, "I'm just going to get on stage and sing."'
The executive producer also recalled sitting in on Bieber's 'brilliant' rehearsal, which only lasted 15 minutes of the allotted 90-minute time.
Winston said: "'We are seven minutes into his hour-and-a-half rehearsal. And he goes, 'How'd it look to you? You happy with it?'

"And I was like, 'Oh, my God. It looked beautiful. I loved it.' And he went, 'Okay, fantastic. See you Sunday!'"
However, he did make sure to ask the 'Daisies' hitmaker to run through the song a second time during rehearsals for the camera operators.
And it looks like the lack of planning actually worked as fans were mesmerised by his performance, taking to social media to praise the star.
One X user wrote: "Justin Bieber just gave the type of performance that makes you shake your head and scrunch your face. Full body chills. #GRAMMYs."
While a second added: "The fact that Justin Bieber is all people talk about tonight and he still didn’t win any Grammys is actually insane."
And a third wrote: "JUSTIN BIEBER’S VOCALS ARE INSANE #GRAMMYS."
