Billie Eilish has blunt five-word response to Donald Trump becoming president

Billie Eilish didn't hold back her feelings when it came to the news of the presidential election

Billie Eilish has made her feelings clear following the news of Donald Trump's election win.

Trump reigned victorious over Democratic candidate and Vice-President, Kamala Harris, in the 2024 presidential election.

The businessman was first elected president in 2017 before running again in 2020, however, he lost to Joe Biden.

Now, Trump will be reinstated into the White House for a second time.

However, his win has left a few concerned about what this could mean for the future of the US - especially when it comes to women's reproductive rights.

In 2022, Roe v Wade was overturned, which guaranteed women the right to an abortion up to 24 weeks, as per the BBC.

However, since then, states have individually amended these laws to include restrictions on when an abortion can be performed, with some states banning abortion from the moment of conception to others, like Georgia, banning abortion after six weeks - which is before most women know they are pregnant, the outlet further states.

Trump had previously called the bans 'a beautiful thing to watch', however, many are scared that Project 2025 could bring some real problems, like restricting access to abortion medication.

Following Trump's win, Billie issued a five word response on her Instagram Story.

On a plain black background, she wrote simply: "It’s a war on women” to her 120 million followers.

She later elaborated on her thoughts during her show in Nashville, Tennessee.

Billie said that she 'couldn’t really fathom doing a show on this day....the longer the day went on, I kind of had this feeling of like, it’s such a privilege that I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time like right now'.

The 'What was I Made for' singer then dedicated her 2022 song 'TV' to the women in the crowd, adding: “I want you to know that you’re safe with me and you’re protected here and that you are safe in this room.

“And the song that we’re about to do is … about the abuse that exists in this world upon women and a lot of the experiences that I have gone through and people I know have gone through.

"To tell you the truth, I’ve never met one single woman who doesn’t have a story of abuse. Not one.

“I’ve dealt with some stuff myself and I’ve been taken advantage of. My boundaries were crossed, to say it politely, and now a person who is a … let’s say convicted predator, let’s say that — god, my heart is beating fast — someone who hates women so, so deeply is about to be the president of the United States of America.

"So, this song is for all the women out there. I love you, I support you.”

Her statement isn't the only one to come from a celebrity following Trump's win.

Ariana Grande also wrote on her Instagram Story: "Holding the hand of every person who is feeling the immeasurable heaviness of this outcome today."
