Love Island star Ellie Chadwick has spoken out following her unexpected departure from the villa.
ITV confirmed she'd left the show under sudden circumstances on Wednesday (15 Jul) after her partner, Finley Maddock, had his head turned by new bombshell Elicia Bailey.
While he initially insisted he'd remain loyal to Ellie after being 'stolen' by the newbie, when he and Elicia were subsequently sent out on a date, he controversially kissed his new beau.
After catching wind of the steamy moment, Ellie insisted she was done with Finley, who - much to the dismay of fans - slowly managed to crawl his way back in, and eventually the pair got back together.
Finley had his head turned by bombshell Elicia (ITV2) During Wednesday night's episode, however, the public voted Finley as one of their least favourite boys, after which his fellow islanders were forced to vote to send him home, after which Ellie confirmed she'd leave, too.
Asked to explain her decision, Ellie claimed that, while she hasn't been pleased by Finley's antics, she knew she wouldn't find a more meaningful connection in the weeks the show has left.
Taking to Instagram in the days since, the Scottish real estate manager wrote in a lengthy statement: "Where do I even begin…
"What an unforgettable experience. I’ve been through every emotion possible, made memories that will stay with me forever, and I truly wouldn’t change a single second of it. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m so grateful I got to live every moment to the fullest."
Ellie left the show with Finley (ITV2) She continued: "Coming out of the villa and seeing all of your love and support has honestly been overwhelming in the best way. I can’t thank every single one of you enough for backing me from the very beginning.
"Your messages, kindness, and encouragement have filled my heart more than you know."
Ellie went on to claim she's 'so excited for what's next', adding: "I can’t wait to take you all along with me on this next chapter.
"Thank you for everything. Love always, El x."
Fans have since flooded the comments to the post, hailing Ellie for remaining true to herself through the process.
"You should be so proud of yourself!!!! Scottish Queen," one gushed.
Another wrote: "The UK fell in love with you, rightly so - we all loved every minute, so proud of you xxx."
