Love Island has been thrown into chaos, not even a week into the new series, as one contestant has already left suddenly.
Semi-professional footballer George Knight has packed his bags and departed Mallorca, after entering the iconic villa as one of the first bombshells of the season, alongside Yasmin Hadlow, on Tuesday (2 June).
George ended up dumping Samraj Toor with the hopes of pursuing Mica Harris, while Yasmin gave Ellie Chadwick the axe so she could get to know Aidan Murphy better.
But, little did they know, in one of the first big twists of the series, the Islanders weren’t actually dumped, and they actually spent time in the Hideaway, before they eventually returned in Thursday’s episode (4 June).

George's exit was confirmed by multiple news outlets yesterday, and now ITV has released a statement on the matter.

A Love Island spokesperson told Tyla: "For private reasons, George has left the Love Island villa."
And a source added in a separate statement to The Mirror: "Duty of care for the Islanders is paramount, so at this stage any further comment will come from George. Bosses and viewers alike had been loving his contribution."
While Love Island has had its fair share of dramatic exits and shock dumpings, this might be one of the earliest walks from the reality TV show.
As mentioned, George, 28, is a semi-professional footballer who currently plays for Dorking Wanderers FC.
He featured in last night’s episode, and according to Radio Times, his exit scenes are not expected to air.
During his time on the ITV show, George struck up a connection with Robyn Langton, 21, and boldly asked her if she wanted to share a bed with him in the hideaway.
However, she told him that she needed to think about it, before declining his offer.
After the shock dumping Robyn asked George why he chose Samraj to give the boot, asking: "What did you make your decision off? Basically competition?"

The footballer responded with: "Personal gain, don’t take it personally."
Fans have since taken to social media to react to George’s sudden exit, with one fan writing on X: "SO GEORGE BASICALLY GOT SAMRAJ SENT HOME JUST TO SELF EVICT THE NEXT DAY?! #LoveIsland #LoveIslandUK."
A second added: "So no one was going to choose George so he left! TEA #loveisland."
Tyla has contacted ITV for further comment.
