A lip-reader has revealed what Kate Middleton said at Wimbledon after her appearance sparked a major reaction.

On Sunday (14 July), the Princess of Wales made a rare public appearance amid her cancer treatment when she rocked up to the Wimbledon men's singles final alongside her nine-year-old daughter, Charlotte.

As the pair took their seats in the front row of the Royal Box at Centre Court, the crowd rose to their feet, giving the 42-year-old a standing ovation.

What did she say?

Fans have also been dying to work out what Kate said to Charlotte during the standing ovation, with one expert now weighing in to share what they reckon she said.

Lip reader, Jeremy Freeman, has analysed footage from the moment the two princesses arrived.

Speaking to The Sun, he theorised that Kate asked Charlotte to 'come over here' as they got to their seats.

Kate then took a moment to thank the woman, Deborah Jevans, who had accompanied them and proceeded to wave to the crowd, who were all standing up applauding her entrance to the court.

According to the lip reader, she then said 'hi' to the crowd and later turned to the lady next to her, adding 'so sweet'.

Presenting the trophy

Following the final, Kate presented the Wimbledon trophy to Carlos Alcaraz, who has now won the title for the second year in a row.

Kate, who was wearing a £1295 purple bespoke dress from Safiyaa, and Charlotte spoke to the Spanish tennis champion off the court with the Princess of Wales saying: "This is Charlotte, [she was] cheering you on. You had everything crossed."

Alcaraz then replied: "Nice to meet you."

"We've watched a lot on telly, so it's great to finally get to meet you," Kate continued.

Before she presented Alcaraz with the trophy, she shook the hand of runner-up Novak Djokovic.

This was Kate's first public appearance in almost a month as she was last seen at Trooping the Colour alongside her husband, Prince William.

Tyla has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.
