Trevor Noah brutally took aim at Nicki Minaj during the Grammys last night, following her surprising show of support for US President Donald Trump.

The South African comedian and writer, 41, hosted his sixth and final Grammy Awards yesterday (1 February) - and it's safe to say he went out with a bang.

Noah didn't hold back when it came to mentioning politics during his speech, with Trump being the punchline of quite a few jibes during his speech. And as we say, he also managed to slip in a jibe about rapper Minaj, after she was awarded a Trump Gold Card at the Trump Accounts Summit on Wednesday (28 January).

Minaj also joined the Republican leader on stage, where she publicly praised him and declared she's 'probably' his 'number one fan'.

She said: "I am probably the president’s number one fan and that’s not going to change."

The Trinidad-born rapper added: "And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more, and it's going to motivate all of us to support him more. We're not going to let them get away with bullying him and you know, the smear campaigns, it's not going to work. OK?"

During his speech, Noah poked fun at the surprising moment by making a joke about Trump and Minaj.

Talking about some of the celebrities in attendance at the star-studded music event, he gushed: "Every single person here, John Legend, Billie Eilish, Finneas," before adding: "Nicki Minaj is not here, she is not here."

He said: "She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues."

Noah then launched into a Trump impression and joked: "Actually Nicki, I have the biggest a**. Everybody's saying it Nicki, I know they say it's you but it's me, look at it baby."

Watch for yourself here:

And as we mentioned, this wasn't the only Trump-related joke Noah shared during the awards ceremony.

Before the ‘Song of the Year’ winner was revealed, Noah said: "Song of the Year - that is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton."

In response, the US President erupted on Truth Social and called him a 'total loser' who 'better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast,' before threatening to sue the star.

Trump raged: "The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer.

"The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards. Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!

"I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media."

He added: "Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast.

"It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$. Ask Little George Slopadopolus, and others, how that all worked out. Also ask CBS!

"Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you! President DJT."
