Travis Barker speaks out on Kourtney Kardashian's 'life-threatening emergency surgery'

He had been forced to postpone his tour after she was rushed to hospital

Travis Barker has spoken out about Kourtney Kardashian's emergency surgery, following a 'life-threatening' health incident that threatened their unborn child.

Barker had to rush home for an 'urgent family matter' while on tour with his band Blink-182, who had been due to perform in Scotland last Friday (1 September).

"Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States," a statement from the band read on Friday morning.

"The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed.

"More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available."

Kardashian - who is currently pregnant with Barker's son - later posted took to Instagram to explain that she had to undergo 'urgent fetal surgery'.

A pregnant Kourtney Kardashian was rushed to hospital for surgery.

She wrote: "I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.

"As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.

"Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing."

Barker has now spoken out about the incident himself, thanking fans for their support during what must have been a truly terrifying time for the couple.

He also confirmed that the tour would recommence this week.

Barker tweeted: "God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well.

"I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday."

Barker previously posted a picture from inside the prayer room.

Barker had previously posted a series of images to his Instagram story of the prayer room at Glasgow Airport, including a photo of the entrance to the room, another of a sign that said 'together we pray', and a third of a stained glass window.

Barker has two children with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler. Kourtney has three children with her ex-husband Scott Disick; they are Mason, aged 13, Penelope, aged 10, and Reign, aged 8.
