Tom Holland caught calling Zendaya sweet nickname on red carpet

Zendaya and Tom Holland fans have been going wild over a heartwarming red carpet moment that seemingly revealed an intimate detail about their relationship.

The Euphoria star, 29, and English actor, 30, have been publicly together for around five years, after they met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming back in 2016, and their friendship had blossomed into romance by 2021.

In 2025, rumours began swirling that the celebrity couple was engaged after Zendaya was papped wearing a diamond on the ring finger of her left hand.

While the pair are famously private about their romance, Tom confirmed earlier this month in an interview with Esquire that the wedding has already happened and the duo are, in fact, married.

And now, fans have also found out the adorable nickname the actor has for his wife.

On Tuesday (23 June), while answering questions for their upcoming movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, on the red carpet in Rome, Tom referred to Zendaya by her middle name, Maree.

While talking about a nearby gelateria that he couldn’t remember the name of, Tom called out, "Maree, do you remember the name of that place?"

Zendaya immediately responded, “Giolitti's!” which prompted fans to think this must be what Tom calls her all of the time.

The actress added: “That's where I'm going after this,” before turning back to her own interview.

One X user gushed: “This is the first time we heard Tom call Z by her second name, that’s so sweet.”

While a second added, “And this is how I found out she’s got a middle name.”

A third pointed out: “Everyone is obsessing over this, but it honestly just shows how much of their actual relationship they keep totally hidden. The internet only gets like 5% of what they're actually like together.”

“The way she immediately looked over for him right away, I love that they found each other and fell in love,” gushed a fifth.

As mentioned, Tom cryptically confirmed that he and Zendaya had already tied the knot when he was quizzed by Esquire on whether he had to inform family members about AI-generated images showing the pair of them supposedly at their wedding. He simply replied, "No, because they were all there. That's all you'll get on that.”
