Despite the predominantly private nature of their relationship, Timothée Chalamet gave fans an insight into a special birthday celebration that his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, recently arranged for him last week.

By his own admission, however, the thoughtful preparations had initially left him in a rather foul mood.

For those in need of a reminder, the Marty Supreme star, 30, has been in a loved-up relationship with reality TV star Jenner, 28, since 2023, when they were first spotted attending a Beyoncé concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles together.

Since then, Chalamet has appeared at almost every red carpet show arm-in-arm with his brunette bombshell other-half, who shares two children with rapper ex-partner Travis Scott.

Despite this, the two have maintained a largely privatised romance.

Even back in November, when Chalamet was asked by Vogue about his personal life, the fashion mag's editors claimed the American-French actor 'would not talk about his relationship' with Jenner, reportedly telling them: "I don’t say that with any fear, I just don’t have anything to say."

Naturally, therefore, fans were somewhat surprised last week to hear the Wonka frontman discuss what Jenner had planned for his recent birthday.

Speaking to his Interstellar co-star Matthew McConaughey during a CNN & Variety Town Hall Event last week, Chalamet revealed that the Kylie Cosmetics boss had hired an IMAX cinema screen, so that he could watch the sci-fi hit - his favourite professional project so far - in peace.

Chalamet began: "I saw it 12 times in theatres when it came out."

McConaughey - who played the lead in the Christopher Nolan hit, and Chalamet's on-screen father - went on to explain: "His girlfriend set him up a screening of Interstellar for his birthday."

Confirming his Hollywood pal's story was 'true', Chalamet admitted: "I was grumpy on the way there because I don’t know where she’s taking me. 'It’s my birthday, why are we driving 30 minutes outside of LA?'.

"I got to the theatre, it was Interstellar in IMAX. I said, 'Oh, I’m sorry, I’m sorry I was so grumpy on the drive'. I love that movie, man."

As we say, Chalamet's confession marks one of the few times he has discussed his relationship with The Kardashians star in public.

Recently, he gave Jenner a tear-jerking shout-out after winning the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy award at this year's Golden Globes last month, for his lead role in Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme.

After thanking the director and his cast-mates, he paid homage to his family, including his girlfriend.

"To my parents and my partner, I love you, thank you so much," he gushed.

Weeks earlier, after winning the Critics' Choice Award for the same sport-drama, Chalamet also thanked his 'partner of three years' as she watched on from the live studio audience.

"And lastly, I'll just say, thank you to my partner of three years," he gushed after, again, winning Best Actor. "Thank you for our foundation. I love you.

"I couldn't do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much."
