Timothée Chalamet fans were left puzzled after the camera hilariously panned to the wrong person during his Critics Choice Awards acceptance speech last night (4 January).
The awards, hosted by Chelsea Handler, honour the year’s best in film, streaming and television as voted by critics and journalists and are also seen as an early indicator in the Oscar race.
And it was a great night for the 30-year-old star as he was named Best Actor for his starring role in Marty Supreme - a sports comedy drama following Marty Mauser's chaotic rise in the underground ping-pong scene.
He was up against some incredible talent in the category and impressively beat the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Joel Edgerton (Train Dreams), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent).

During his acceptance speech, Chalamet gave a rare shoutout to his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, who had accompanied him to the event and was lovingly watching on in the crowd.

He began by issuing thanks to his fellow nominees, his team and the film's director, Josh Safdie, before sharing some words of praise for his 'partner of three years'.
The Call Me By Your Name star gushed: "And lastly, I'll just say, thank you to my partner of three years.
"Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much."
However, it seemed the camera operator couldn't quite keep up with what he was saying and panned to the entirely wrong person as he was talking about his 'partner'.
Instead of the 28-year-old reality TV star appearing on the big screens, fans at home and the audience were met with Michael B. Jordan, who had just lost out on the award.
Now, we know that award ceremonies usually show the people who lost out; it was just unfortunate timing with where Chalamet was at with his speech, as it made it look like he was talking about the American actor.
And, making it even funnier, Jordan had quite the deadpan stare going on while the camera lingered on his face.
The camera eventually panned to Jenner, who could be seen mouthing 'I love you, too' from the audience.
Fans certainly didn't miss the slip and have rushed to social media to point it out, as it's become almost an instant meme.

One X user joked: "The camera being on michael b jordan while timothee says thank you to my partner of three years."
While a second added: "love how he says thank you to my partner of three years and it jumps to michael b jordan."
And a third agreed: "Addicted to the way the cut to Michael b Jordan implies he is Timmy’s partner of 3 years."
Meanwhile, another viewer over on Reddit chimed in with: "They kept that camera on Michael B Jordan for so long I almost thought they were partners for 3 years lol."
