Let's be honest, having exactly the same name as your partner is an issue that is not common for most couples.
But for Taylor Lautner and his wife, you guessed it, Taylor Lautner, things can get a little confusing for people.
The Twilight actor, 34, announced yesterday (26 March) that he and his wife, 29, are expecting their first baby together with a sweet post on Instagram.
Heartwarming photos show the couple posing in a field together, holding up a series of sonogram images, with Taylor kissing his wife's pregnant stomach.

Poking fun at their matching names and joking that maybe their baby could also be called Taylor Lautner, he penned in the caption: "What’s better than two Taylor Lautners?"
The pregnancy announcement has got people talking about the whole matching moniker dilemma again, and an interview has resurfaced where Taylor explained how they handle the unique situation.

For context, Taylor's wife Tay's maiden name was Taylor Dome, but when she and the actor tied the knot in May 2023 after five years of dating, she took on her husband's last name, making her also Taylor Launter.
Shortly after the wedding, the then-newlyweds spoke on The Today Show about how they have exactly the same name.
Co-host Sheinelle Jones pointed and questioned: "Your friends and family, they call you (the actor) Taylor, and they just call you (his wife) Tay?"
Tay explained that it can be confusing, but to make things easier for people, she often goes by the shortened version of her name, Tay, and her hubby goes by Taylor.
They also go by 'girl Tay' and 'boy Tay,' to help eliminate any miscommunications.
She said, "Yeah, we’ve kind of got boy Tay, girl Tay going on. And that is how they differentiate it. But now I’m always girl Tay, and he’s always boy Tay - even when we’re not together."
Sheinelle joked, "That's so funny. Well, boy Tay and girl Tay, thank you so much for coming."

Elaborating on the name-sharing situation in a January interview with Cosmopolitan, Taylor explained how he sees it as a 'really special thing'.
He mused: "It’s hilarious in a lot of ways, but sharing a name just adds to my feeling like she’s literally my other half and we are one and the same.
"Of course, we have different lives and independence. But it’s a really special thing."
While Tay agreed, "We giggle about it all the time. We were just like, 'This is going to be a little confusing.' But it was something that I wanted. Being Taylor’s wife, I wanted his last name."
