Super Bowl viewers convinced they’ve been ‘gaslit’ after new footage reveals what actually happened when Trump appeared

Sports fans have rushed to social media to share their verdict on the new footage

Super Bowl viewers are utterly convinced they’ve been 'gaslit' after new footage has supposedly 'revealed' what actually happened when Donald Trump appeared at the stadium.

Now, there were a whole load of famous faces in attendance at the eagerly-anticipated Super Bowl final between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday (9 February) including Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Serena Williams and Trump - whose appearance marked the first time a sitting American president has attended the major sporting event.

There was equally a whole load of drama too - most notably Swift finding herself the recipient of an eruption of boos after her face was shown up on the jumbotron.

Following the uncomfortable incident, the 78-year-old Republican shared a post online which read: "Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed.

"The world is healing!"

He added in a follow-up post: "The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium.

"MAGA is very unforgiving!"

However, a new video which has started circling on social media seems to show that Trump also received a fair share of boos when he rocked up to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

With that said, though, many Trump supporters were convinced such footage was merely edited and that the president didn't actually get as many boos as it would appear.

One X user penned: "So interesting! When I was watching I was mortified they cheered so much for him, but apparently I have been gaslighted once again."

A second claimed: "OH! He got booed alright and heard it."

"Trump hates nothing more than a boo," wrote a third.

Another declared "This video they posted has fake audio… its incredibly fake audio…"

"Sound effect, fake," a final X user branded.

Following the game, Trump took to Truth Social to share his verdicts on the 'worst part' of Sunday's final which saw the Philadelphia Eagles take home a 40-22 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.

He penned: "The worst part of the Super Bowl, by far, was watching the Kickoff where, as the ball is sailing through the air, the entire field is frozen, stiff.

"College Football does not do it, and won’t! Whose idea was it to ruin the Game?"

His remarks come after he sparked outrage online following one particular 'cringe' gesture he made at the Super Bowl.
