Stacey Solomon gives health update after being rushed to hospital on holiday in Jamaica

Stacey was rushed to hospital with an infection

Stacey Solomon has given fans an update after she was rushed to hospital in Jamaica.

Stacey, 34, recently jetted off to Jamaica after surprising her entire family with the dream getaway during the festive season.

But Stacey revealed that the holiday had a terrible ending after she was rushed to hospital just before they were due to leave.

"We had the worst exit to Jamaica of all time," Stacey explained in a video when she got home.

"The day before we were travelling home I started to feel a bit fluey, so I thought, oh I'm getting that flu that everyone's got. That's alright, we're going home tomorrow, I'll just get through it, get over it and carry on."

Stacey felt so poorly she had to head to bed early, and when her husband Joe Swash saw how ill she looked after dinner, he reckoned she needed medical attention.

He called Stacey's sister, a nurse, who noticed her body temperature kept rising.

Stacey continued: "They called the medical team inside the hotel and the nurse came down, took one look at me and put an oxygen mask on me, covered me in wet towels and my temperature was still too high so she literally said [I] needed to get to the hospital."

Stacey shared an update on Instagram.

Stacey explained that once she was at the hospital, she was hooked up to an IV drip.

"Yeah I ended up in hospital in Jamaica. It doesn't feel real," she said.

"The IV and everything went in and I did start to feel instantly better. Still rough as hell but way better than what I was.

"They got me to a point where they were happy for me to fly home."

Stacey explained that she'd been sleeping since she got home but was starting to feel better again.

On Monday (8 January) she shared a photo of a bowl of chicken soup with noodles and dumplings, explaining that her friends had been over to help her pack away Christmas.

"My friends came over. Brought chicken soup. Put away Christmas for me. I may have cried. The end," she wrote.

Stacey headed to Jamaica over Christmas after surprising her family.

Sharing a video of her littlest family members opening a letter which read 'we're going to Jamaica', Stacey revealed she would be taking her entire family across the world, adding that she never thought she'd 'be able to do this'.

"A special Christmas... For the first time ever we got to surprise our families for Christmas," she wrote.

"Never felt more grateful & lucky. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d be able to do this. 20 of us, 10 hours later & we have made it to paradise.

"Merry Christmas Everyone. Lots of love from ALL of us."

We hope you're feeling better soon, Stacey.
