Simon Cowell addresses scrutiny over Amanda Holden’s outfits on BGT

While many of us are buzzing to tune into every episode of Britain's Got Talent to see, well, a bunch of talent - it's clear heaps of ITV viewers love to see what the four judges don for the occasion.

Now, while most people absolutely love the get-ups Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and Amanda Holden wear, it seems many have an issue with the latter's ensembles.

Since then, the X Factor head honcho has addressed scrutiny over Amanda's supposedly 'out there' outfits.

In 2020, the judge and TV presenter sparked over 250 complaints to Ofcom following what many deemed to be an inappropriate outfit.

All she was wearing was a navy plunging thigh-slit gown.

At the time, she told Tyla: "I dress for myself and I've always dressed for myself and I really enjoy fashion and I'm okay with it is all I'll say.

"I don't lose any sleep over it and I never set out to offend anybody. But I think these days you're unable to not offend - there's no way of winning. So you have to stay true to yourself and wear what you want."

In a more recent look during the finals, many trolls took to X to slam Amanda after she rocked up in a floor-length sparkling dress complete with a mesh skirt and a low-cut silver armour-style upper half.

One person wrote: "Considering it’s a family show…Amanda Holden wears the most inappropriate outfits!!!"

Another piped up up: "@AmandaHolden needs guidance on her inability to cover up suitably for family audiences."

Whereas others, ourselves included, loved the look.

One said: "I think Amanda Holden looks amazing... if I had a figure like that I'd be rocking it too believe me lol."

Another chimed in: "Wow! These women really know how to dress! All week they have looked amazing!"

Since then, Simon has addressed the backlash Amanda's received over the years from ITV viewers in a right tizzy over her 'inappropriate' fashion choices.

Speaking recently in an exclusive interview with UNILAD, the record executive explained: "You know, Amanda, I can't tell her what to wear. I mean that.

"I think that's why, you know, she's a fun person. You know, she's just, I have to say this about Amanda and Alesha [Dixon], they're just really, really nice people off camera."

Praising his two fellow judges, Simon went on to say the pair were 'very polite to everyone' before adding: "They're respectful. And, you know, Amanda's you know, she's kind of out there. And I admire her for that."

Congratulating the Heart Breakfast radio co-host, he added: "She's really hard working. You know, she does our show. And then she gets up before in the morning to do a breakfast show. And you know, and I think that's part of her success. She’s a hard worker."
