Fans of Justin Bieber believe the singer has been majorly shaded by ex-beau Selena Gomez, during her recent appearance in an episode of Disney's Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
For those in need of a reminder, Canadian hit-maker Bieber and actress Gomez (or 'Jelena', as they were known by fans) famously dated on-off between 2010 and 2018.
The same year as their gut-wrenching split, Bieber, now 31, married Rhode beauty boss Hailey Bieber (nee Baldwin). The couple have been together ever since, and welcomed their first child, a son named Jack Blues, back in August of last year.
Gomez, meanwhile, went on to date a string of huge-name stars in the years after she and the 'Baby' musician's break-up, including The Weeknd and Zedd. Last year, however, she revealed she'd struck up a relationship with record producer and long-time pal, Benny Blanco.

The pair announced their engagement in December 2024, and last month, Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, tied the knot in Santa Barbara County, California.
Despite now being officially off the market, however, fans of the Only Murders In The Building actress believe Gomez still has a bone to pick with Bieber, and reportedly threw shade at her former flame during a recent TV appearance.
In an episode of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place - the Disney Channel spin-off of the initial Wizards of Waverly Place series that sky-rocketed the brunette bombshell into the spotlight in 2007 - Gomez can be seen chatting to her on-screen daughter about heartbreak.

"And if you really like this guy, you should follow your heart," her character, Alex Russo, tells daughter Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown).
Billie then asks her: "Really?"
In character, Gomez then replies: "Oh yeah, as someone whose type is bad boys who you think you can fix, but you can’t, so you end up writing songs about them…Oh I know what I’m talking about."

While the fun-poking line might simply form part of Gomez's cheeky on-screen persona, fans of the TV star have convinced themselves that her ex-boyfriend-related comments may have been entirely intentional.
In fact, they believe the line has Bieber written all over it.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share the clip, one user jibed: "7 years later, she’s still shading him? and SHE'S MARRIED??
"WE WILL NEVER BE FREE."

Another agreed: "Yes. She’s shading him. Because Alex Russo has never written or created songs about ‘bad boys she’s tried to fix’ lol that is Selena Gomez, the person."
Others, however, are of the opinion it's just a rib-tickling coincidence, with one hitting out: "You do know that she doesn’t write the script right? Or are you actually that stupid? Just curious."

Another went on to joke: "She’s reading a script you dumbass."

"7 years and you still remember them dating?" a third asked. "Move on they aren’t together and never will be, they’re both married."
