An insider has revealed the reported surprising role Justin Bieber played in Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s 'delayed' engagement.
Fans of the 32-year-old 'Calm Down' singer were absolutely over the moon when she announced her engagement to Blanco, 36, yesterday (12 Dec).
Gomez shared the update on Instagram, posting a carousel of pictures that included one of the pretty huge rock and another of her and Blanco embracing as she flashed her new jewellery to the camera.

"Forever begins now..." she captioned the post, while her fiancé commented: Hey wait… that’s my wife."
And it didn't take long for the comments to be flooded with well wishes from others, with none other than Taylor Swift writing: "Yes I will be the flower girl."
Friends star Jennifer Aniston also posted in the comments section: "HONEY!! Congratulations sweet mama!", and Gordon Ramsey of all people remarked: "Congratulations to you both it must be the cooking."
However, amidst the sea of supportive and congratulatory messages was unfortunately a lot of speculation about a rumoured drama between Gomez, her ex-boyfriend Bieber and his wife and mother of his child, Hailey.
Now, the Biebers tied the knot back in 2018 and, just this year welcomed their son, little Jack, in August.
And, according to an insider, their child is the reason why her engagement to Blanco was allegedly 'delayed' - something neither of the parties involved have confirmed.
"They became engaged in August and Selena didn't want her engagement to be tied to Bieber in any way," an insider told Mail Online. "They knew it would."
They added: "Selena knew that there would be stories accusing her of getting engaged to turn attention away from Justin’s baby, or that people would claim that she did this to one up him."
Fans of Gomez and the Rhode founder believe her 'liking' Gomez’s recent engagement post is a true sign that the pair are on good terms with one another, with one X user commenting: "We love women supporting women. This made my heart happy."
"War is over," replied someone else.
A third congratulated Bieber on her 'classy move', adding: "Wishing her well."
And another messaged: "So everybody can be happy now. Thank God."
A source also told the outlet: "'Benny is more than a rock to Selena.
"He embraces everything about her, doesn't judge, and tries to find the answer to any concerns. She knows that he will be the best father because of the way he takes care of her.
"Selena knows that he will be a part of her life forever."
