Selena Gomez fans don’t know what to think after spotting unusual details in Benny Blanco engagement photo

Selena Gomez fans are divided after the star revealed she was officially engaged to American record producer Benny Blanco—with some claiming he did his ‘research well’ with his seemingly unique proposal.

32-year-old Gomez and Blanco, 36, are officially set to get hitched after confirming their relationship last year.

Gomez broke the news that the pair were engaged via Instagram, sharing a picture of a large diamond ring with the caption ‘forever begins now’.

The two-time Grammy-nominated singer also included a selfie in the carousel, alongside a sweet snap of her and Blanco embracing as she flashed her rock for the camera.

Another image was included in the sweet post which has confused fans as it appears to show Gomez enjoying a picturesque outdoor picnic of various Taco Bell goodies.

Viewers have taken to social media to debate whether Virginia-born Blanco asked for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage with fast food.

“He just got money from TacoBell for the ad so he can buy that ring for her,” commented one Twitter user.

“More importantly why does it look like they’re outside but inside at the same time,” remarked someone else.

A third user echoed: “They seem to be on the set? It looks fake grass and a wall is painted.”

Another fan wrote: “She loves Taco Bell doesn’t mean she wanted for her proposal omg.”

However, thousands of Selenators have praised the ‘Good for You’ singer and her husband-to-be, with one saying: “Awww this is awesome.”

“A Taco Bell picnic proposal. Benny understood the assignment,” a second penned.

A third stated: “Dude went and did research well...hope this engagement leads to marriage.”

Die-hard fans of the couple will already be aware that Taco Bell has previously played a part in Gomez and Blanco’s relationship.

Speaking to People magazine earlier this year, Blanco revealed his girlfriend likes both grand gestures and ‘simple dates’.

“For Valentine's Day, I got her Taco Bell, I made her movie theatre nachos, I found her favourite pickles from Texas, and I deep-fried them for her,” he confessed to the publication.

“And then [I got her] just like all her favourite candies and hot Cheetos.”

In an interview with The Howard Stern Show, Blanco also described Taco Bell as the Only Murder in the Building alumna's ‘favourite thing’

“You are some boyfriend, you’re knocking it out the park. I see love here, I’m predicting marriage,” the radio host said.

Blanco replied: “You and me both."

Despite only posting their delightful news hours ago, a horde of celebrities have already come out to congratulate the happy couple on their engagement.

One of which is Gomez’s BFF Taylor Swift, who commented: “Yes I will be the flower girl.”

"Waiiiitttt hold on,” surmised rapper Cardi B, while Gwyneth Paltrow said: "SELENAAAAAAA.”

Suki Waterhouse added: "Congratulations beauty!”
