Selena Gomez has made a seriously touching admission about her childhood in a brand-new interview.
The 33-year-old Rare Beauty founder - who wears many hats, including Hollywood actress, pop music fan-favourite and most-followed woman on Instagram, just to name a handful - recently sat down with Allure to share with fans the latest in her life.
The cover issue, which came out today (9 September), saw Selena open up about her roots, after having first hit the spotlight aged just 10 years old on Barney & Friends.
Flash-forward four years, age 14, and she was cast as teen wizard Alex Russo in Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place, which ran for four seasons before ending when Selena was aged 19.

However, despite all the success on the silver screen, she's never tried to push away her Disney Channel roots.
"I was in these crucial years of my brain developing," she said, reflecting of her time on Wizards. "And all of those people that are on the show with us have grown and evolved, and I want them to be in my life. I think that's why I always go back."
By 'go back', the 'How Does It Feel To Be Forgotten' singer referred to her appearance as a guest star on the recent reboot, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place - in which she also serves as an executive producer.

"It’s a home. It's safe. And my sister just gets a kick out of it, so half the reason I’m doing it is for her."
Speaking of her 12-year-old sister, Gracie, Selena explained: "She's majorly into beauty."
However, the make-up mogul added: "She isn't allowed to wear anything outside the house other than a little blush and lip gloss. That’s it. But she's able to have fun…. And trust me, when she's here [at the office], I can't get her out of the product closet."
"My favourite part about her, though, is that she wants nothing to do with my [other] job. I was so worried when I had a sister…I didn’t want anything to cloud her vision. But she’s such a kid being a kid," Selena went on, before making the heartbreaking admission. "I didn’t get to do that. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but I’m just glad she has a bit of a childhood."
