Holland Taylor, 83, shares why she and Sarah Paulson, 51, refuse to live together after 10 years
Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson have been a couple for more than a decade but they don’t plan on living together.
While many couples eventually take the step of moving in together, that isn’t always the case. After 12 years together, The Primetime Emmy Award winner is opening up about why she and her partner, American Horror Story legend Sarah Paulson, have chosen to maintain separate homes. The actress recently shared the reason during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.
The host quizzed: “Is it true that you guys don’t live together?”
The Legally Blonde actress, 83, said: “Well we do as much time as we possibly can, because work takes us apart constantly. But I have an apartment here [in New York City], and [Paulson] stays here in my apartment when she’s here.”

Taylor said whenever she and Paulson, 51, are in the same city they’ll always share an apartment.
While on the West Coast, the couple own separate homes in Los Angeles. The Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story actress is currently living at Taylor's house while she waits to officially move into a home she just purchased.
“In L.A., I have a separate house from hers, but her new house, she hasn’t moved into,” Taylor explains. “It’s been almost a year since she’s been staying in my house in L.A., too. So we’re together as much as geography and our jobs let us be.”
Last year, Paulson joined her girlfriend when she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame where Taylor gushed over the All’s Fair actress as her ‘shining star’.
"Sarah, the actress, is first of all a wild creature in the animal kingdom," Taylor began during Tuesday's (2 December) ceremony. "Warm blooded, instinctive, mysterious. And Sarah is dangerous — trust me in this — not dangerous like a snake, more like a mongoose.
"You know, those darling furry, little creatures that kill snakes."
They first met in 2005, but didn’t start dating until Holland 'slid into’ Paulson's DMs a decade later, going on to make a number of red carpet appearances together.
While fans are often shocked by their 32-year age gap, the pair very rarely discuss the nature of their relationship with members of the press, though Paulson once made an honest admission about the age gap.
During their latest outing, L-Word actress Taylor applauded hero other-half's 'commitment to truth' as a performer.
"Nothing interferes with her laser perception of her character’s traits, its habitat, vulnerabilities, its heroism, its ugliness, terrible truths, its comic pathos," Taylor continued. "She zeros in to a story’s central struggle, where most of us aren’t even aware of our own."
The Primetime Emmy-winner went on to predict Paulson might make a 'great director' one day, adding: "Her acting is as honest as our faith and as complicated as chemistry.
"She’s not deceiving us she is practicing magic."
Taylor added of her Paulson's 'secret skill as an actor is her own humanity', that - on a personal level - she's 'deeply understanding, loving and loyal person who is safety itself'.
