Reese Witherspoon has shared her response after seeing one of her most popular films appearing in Netflix’s Wednesday as a horror movie.

Tim Burton’s new hit show centres on everyone’s favourite goth girl Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega) - you can see Witherspoons brilliant reaction to her micro-cameo here:

The new eight-part series only landed on Netflix on 23 November but it’s already shot its way up the streaming platform’s most watched list.

Among those who have tuned in to the new series is Witherspoon, who spotted her iconic Elle Woods very briefly pop up in episode seven.

For those who haven’t yet seen it, in episode seven Wednesday agrees to go on a date with barista Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan) who is smitten enough to put in the extra effort to impress her.

Tyler promises Wednesday a horror movie for them to enjoy promising that she’s going to be ‘horrified’ - but rather than opt for The Exorcist or Texas Chainsaw Massacre, when he presses play the pair are greeted with the 2001 comedy Legally Blonde. An absolute classic, I’m sure you’ll agree and I guess there wouldn't be much scarier for our girl Wednesday, right?

Posting a clip of the episode onto her TikTok, Witherspoon can be seen smiling as the scene plays out before bursting out laughing once she hears the opening bars of Huku’s Perfect Day and we finally get a glimpse of what’s playing on the projector.

Across the clip, the actor wrote: “That moment when you recognize the ‘horror film’ in Wednesday” while she added the caption: “Give Elle a chance, Wednesday!”

Fans of the star were delighted with the unexpected appearance - responding to Witherspoon’s TikTok one said: “I died laughing thinking about how you’d react to this. I’m glad you filmed a reaction video.”

Another wrote: “The second I heard the song I started laughing and said to my husband, ‘It's Legally Blonde!’”

Someone else said: “I burst out laughing! My favourite part.”

And a third commented: “I think Wednesday would appreciate Elle if she got to know her. even though she’s bubblegum/pink she’s a strong force to be reckoned with like her”

Netflix re-shared the clip from its official Twitter account, writing: “Reese Witherspoon finally made it to Episode 7 of Wednesday.”

If you fancy checking it out for yourself, Wednesday is streaming on Netflix right now.
