Russell Brand has bizarrely taken aim at his ex-wife Katy Perry's new romance with Justin Trudeau.
The 50-year-old comedian and actor made the unexpected comments while speaking on stage during a Turning Point USA gathering in Phoenix on Thursday (18 December).
But first, for those who need a quick reminder, the pop star, 41, and Brand were married from 2010 until 2012, with Brand being the one to suddenly file for divorce.
Then, she met Orlando Bloom, 48, at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016, and the celebrity pair had been together for three years before getting engaged in 2019. They also welcomed their first child, Daisy Dove, in 2020.

Despite the actor popping the question, the pair never actually tied the knot and, six years after their engagement, they confirmed their split in July of this year.
Now, in a crossover nobody was expecting, the 'Firework' hitmaker is dating none other than former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Perry and the 53-year-old politician were first linked back in July, with TMZ releasing photos of the duo relishing a meal together at a 'swanky restaurant in Montreal'.
Earlier this month, Perry 'hard-launched' Trudeau on social media, including him in the second photo of her latest Instagram photo dump.
Then, Trudeau was seen attending one of Perry's Canada concerts alongside his daughter, before the couple were snapped kissing on a 24-metre long yacht in the Santa Barbara Channel, California by a group of whale-watching tourists.
As we say though, Brand has strangely decided to comment on his ex-wife's new relationship, more than a decade after they parted ways.
He said on stage at the US event that he was 'okay with Orlando Bloom' but for some reason expressed annoyance that she's now dating Trudeau.
Brand said: "Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still, and I’m glad that her mom’s in the room to hear me say this, but look. I was okay with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau?
"Come on, man! Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge."

Perry revealed to Vogue in 2013 that it was Brand who ended their marriage via text message.
She said at the time: "He’s a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him.
“Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me [on] 31 December, 2011."
It comes after earlier this year, Brand was charged with five counts of assault and rape which stemmed from allegations from four different women.
He was initially accused of sex assault in September 2023, when five women made allegations about his behaviour in a piece worked on by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4's Dispatches.
Brand said he 'absolutely refutes' all of the claims made against him, and he is set for trial in June of 2026.
