Katy Perry has been defended after receiving backlash over a recent Instagram post featuring Justin Trudeau.
Earlier this week, Perry shared a range of photos on social media, including one of Trudeau, as well as a photo of her daughter and a video of her riding a bike.
Other snaps included a mirror selfie, as well as the inside of a fortune cookie.
Perry captioned the carousel of images: "Never knew karma could be so rewarding," but people had a lot of thoughts on the comment.

One person wrote on a Reddit thread about the caption: "Um, does she not know that’s the whole point of karma?"
While another said: "That’s not how karma works. Karma doesn’t reward you simply because you experienced bad things."
And a third added: "Yea, this was the wrong caption choice. I think she was trying to say something like 'you have to weather a lot of storms before you find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow'.
“'Never knew karma could be so rewarding' makes it sound like she never knew what karma is and it sounds like she thinks she did something good to deserve him."
Others were quick to defend Perry, with many criticising others for taking the caption and post so seriously, while others pointed out that the line is actually a lyric.
One added: "Even if it does sound a bit weird, it’s just a lyric from her song legendary lovers which is currently trending I really don't think it is that deep."
While another said: "I hate myself for kinda liking how smitten they are."
And a third wrote: "But they are kinda cute together."
While a fourth urged others to 'give her a break'.
Perry, 41, and 53-year-old Trudeau were first linked romantically back in July of last year, with TMZ releasing a snap of the pair enjoying a meal together at a 'swanky' Montreal restaurant.
Not long after, they were spotted on a yacht, with a source close to the politician telling press 'they click very well so far'.
In the months that followed, Perry and Trudeau were photographed and filmed together regularly - including whilst holding hands in Paris where they celebrated Perry's 41st birthday.
News of their romance came just weeks after the singer's split from actor Orlando Bloom - with whom she shares a daughter - first hit headlines.
Trudeau, meanwhile, had been single since his 2023 divorce from with ex-wife Sophie after 18 years.
