While many fans are thrilled by the news that Peter Andre is now expecting his fifth child - it seems not everyone is chuffed for him.

The 'Mysterious Girl' star, 50, and his wife wife Emily MacDonagh, announced the exciting news on Instagram earlier this morning (12 October) and have since been inundated with congratulations messages from friends, family and fans alike.

The couple, who married back in 2015, already share two children - nine-year-old Amelia and Theo, six, and are clearly over-the-moon about the latest upcoming addition to their growing family.

Peter and Emily, 34, shared the news to their followers with a selfie holding up the baby scans, captioning the post: "We are delighted to share the news with you all. A new addition to our family in 2024."

"The kids are so excited," they added with four black heart emojis, before concluding: "So are we."

One Instagram user penned: "Aaaaaaaaaaah amazing!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!"

While a second wrote: "Amazing news congratulations!"

"Aaahhhh this is amazing!!!" echoed a third. "Huge congratulations to you all!"

And a final added: "I knew you weren't doneeeeee!!!! Omg!! Buzzing for you both babe!!! Congratulations!"

While many fans rushed in to share their supportive messages for the expecting pair, some social media users took it upon themselves to offer far less congratulatory comments.

"More children!!!" quipped one Instagram user. "There’s too many of us in this planet!!"

Loyal fans were quick to defend the 50-year-old from criticism online.

A second hit out: "Oh Pete give it up. You are 50-odd you only do it to prove a point."

Loyal fans, however, were quick to defend Peter and slam the internet trolls.

"And what point would that be?" asked one Instagram user, "that he looks amazing for 50 and it still works? Good on him she is only 34 so just because [sic] he’s 50 doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have kids."

Another penned: "Blimey this is a sad comment. Wonderful parents, wonderful news, made my day then I read this…"

"Doesn’t affect your life though does it," chimed in a third. "Why you jel?"

A final Instagram user echoed: "Why do you care so much to make a comment?"

Peter also has two children with his ex-wife Katie Price, 18-year-old Junior and 16-year-old Princess.

Princess, who has recently just received her GCSE results, is definitely 'excited' by the news after sharing her reaction to the pregnancy announcement.

Writing under the Instagram post, she penned: "Congratulations," with a red heart emoji to match.

Congratulations, Peter and Emily!
