Pete Davidson reveals there’s actually another meaning behind his baby girl’s name - it’s NSFW

Pete Davidson has shed light on the inspiration behind his newborn daughter's name, and the moniker has a surprise double meaning.

For those who missed the exciting news, the former SNL star, 31, and his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, a 29-year-old model and actress, welcomed their first child together on 12 December.

Elsie shared the sweet update that the pair had become parents on her Instagram account a week later, posting an adorable album of photos of their baby girl and revealing her adorable name. She posted a photo of the new mum and dad snuggled up with their bundle of joy, as well as some hospital snaps and a picture of the little one's tiny finger.

The model exclaimed that their 'perfect angel girl' is called Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson.

At the time, fans quickly picked up on the name Scottie being a tribute to Pete's late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, who was a New York City firefighter who died while responding to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The comedian has previously opened up on how his dad’s closest friends would call him Scottie as a nickname.

But, did you know there's actually a double meaning behind his baby girl's name?

In a new interview with Elite Daily, Pete shared that Scottie's name is also geographical - a nod to Scotland to be precise.

He told the publication: "The second she came out, we were like, ‘That’s Scottie.'"

While Elsie revealed they 'went through so many different names,' but Scottie was 'an early favourite,' adding: "We always knew that was the one we were going to come back to, because it was the most meaningful. It's also so cute."

Pete candidly chimed in with: "She was conceived in Scotland."

So there you have it, quite the double meaning.

According to the publication, Elsie took to social media in March 2025 to post snaps from a trip across the pond to Scotland with Pete. They were reportedly in the UK for the wedding of musician Dave Navarro - and clearly, things got ahem, romantic.

The baby's middle name is also a sweet nod to Elsie's family.

“She has the middle name Rose, which is very special to Elsie,” Pete explained.

Elsie added: "My middle name is Rose, and both of my sisters' middle names are also Rose, because my mom's maiden name had Rose in it. So I wanted to have a little special part of them in her name, too."

And it looks like the duo are loving every second of being parents, as Pete told the publication: "I’ve always had anxiety about people pleasing and wanting to be the best at everything. But now I’m like, ‘If I could do that, that’d be cool. But if not, I get to hang out with [Scottie]'.

"You genuinely don't care as much, if at all, about anything else. Like movies or being in f***ing whatever.”

Elsie gushed: “Seeing Pete do this has been the most special thing. I'm re-falling in love all over again. And I think we make a really good team.”
